I don't know. Part of me thinks if you want to make the argument that Ohio State had a weak schedule than Stanford's loss to Utah has to play a significant role in their rank.

That's the toughest call. Stanford's loss is a little ugly but they do have several quality wins, something most of the other top teams can't say.

I agree and that's the other side of the argument. Yes, the loss to Utah was ugly but look who they've played. Just looking back at those weeks, I don't think there is another team that had a schedule like Stanford. With that said, I think Stanford should be number 3 but by a slim margin. Being undefeated is still difficult and you have to give it to Ohio State even with a relatively weak schedule.

No, Stanford does not deserve to be #3 in the nation after losing to 4-5 Utah.

They deserve to be close to OSU, though, which they are. OSU is undefeated and has beaten everyone on their schedule, so they're fine at 3.

For the top schools:

Bama looks human.

FSU rolls on.

Ohio State just keeps on plugging. Only they can win by 25 and have it seem like a bad win.

Stanford falls to USC. As much as I love Stanford for being an academic and athletic power house, I'm glad they lost and are no longer in discussion as a 1 loss BCS CG possibility.

Baylor blows out Texas Tech.

Oregon looks like Oregon.

Auburn has the wildest back and forth ending with Georgia.

Some of the rest:

UCF almost chokes vs. Temple.
Michigan State finally beats Nebraska, hops in the driver's seat on the road to Indy/OSU.
Wisconsin keeps playing like possibly the best 2 loss team in the nation.
Michigan wins a joker against Northwestern after tying it (9-9) on a last second FG with no timeouts.

Rankings are a joke, the best way to remedy the situation would be to have Tournament of 32 or 64 teams, recruiting is always part of the process. Some institutions have both academic and athletic programs that are examples of excellence.Jay Bilas just recently was voicing support for a football tournament similar to the basketball tournament to be organized and overseen by the NCAA.He went on to say that the NCAA should also be given more authority and oversight to enforce NCAA regulations, this would eliminate most of the problems but it is doubtful that this will come to past.

How long would that season last lol? You can't play multiple football games a week like basketball. 64 team Tourny? Lol, that's just funny

I think eight is the sweet spot. We'll get there after just a few years of four.

I have to agree with you that an 8 team playoff is the best option. If we did have an 8 team option this year there would be some EPIC games being played. I would love to watch Auburn vs Baylor and Ohio State vs Clemson. But I have to end this with a ROLL TIDE

BCS Rankings Week 13
Rank Team BCS Average
1 Alabama (10-0) .9914
2 Florida State (10-0) .9661
3 Ohio State (10-0) .8869
4 Baylor (9-0) .8856
5 Oregon (9-1) .7917
6 Auburn (10-1) .7860
7 Clemson (9-1) .7681
8 Missouri (9-1) .7231

Headed to Baton Rouge for what will probably be the last time I get to see Johnny Football play in person. Last team with the ball wins!

Just a heads up, i'm not sure if this is your first time going to Baton Rouge but don't carry many items with you. Parking has become a major pain in the a"" and the gang activity and also pick pockets are just having a field day. A friends car was broken in to and also my friends grandfather had his wallet stolen. So just take what you need and leave everything of value in your hotel room..

AlabamaSlammer

Thanks but I live in TN so far from "T" Town..

I had some free time and was looking at schedules and wins over currently ranked opponents:

1) Alabama: #19 Texas A&M, #15 LSU
2) FSU: #6 Clemson
3) Ohio State: #14 Wisconsin
4) Auburn: #19 Texas A&M
5) Missouri: None
6) Clemson: None
7) Oklahoma State: #9 Baylor
8) Stanford: #13 Arizona State, #22 UCLA, #12 Oregon
9) Baylor: #20 Oklahoma
10) South Carolina: #17 UCF, #5 Missouri
11) Michigan State: None

Kind of puts things into perspective when those saying if Missouri wins out they're a lock to be in the NCG and leapfrog OSU and/or FSU with their schedule or how Clemson is sitting at #6 with only beating a healthy Georgia and getting blown out by FSU.

Judging from the above posts, I might be the only Auburn fan around here.

I can't wait for this weekend. It should be one hell of a game!
