I had some free time and was looking at schedules and wins over currently ranked opponents:

1) Alabama: #19 Texas A&M, #15 LSU
2) FSU: #6 Clemson
3) Ohio State: #14 Wisconsin
4) Auburn: #19 Texas A&M
5) Missouri: None
6) Clemson: None
7) Oklahoma State: #9 Baylor
8) Stanford: #13 Arizona State, #22 UCLA, #12 Oregon
9) Baylor: #20 Oklahoma
10) South Carolina: #17 UCF, #5 Missouri
11) Michigan State: None

Kind of puts things into perspective when those saying if Missouri wins out they're a lock to be in the NCG and leapfrog OSU and/or FSU with their schedule or how Clemson is sitting at #6 with only beating a healthy Georgia and getting blown out by FSU.

A&M hasn't had the season we'd hoped for, but if Mizzou wins out they'd have season-ending wins over the #19 Aggies and #1 Bama or #2-3 Auburn. Not shabby. Might be enough to get them to Pasadena.

WOW. Best. Game. Ever.

Would hate to be Cade Foster right about now. Left 9 points on the board.

This doesn't happen much, if not at all. Alabama was clearly nervous or shook. You just don't see those mistakes on this team. Auburn got in their heads and their play clearly showed that.

Now this is where the BCS standings gets interested. Personally, I think Auburn should leap OSU. The internet is going to be a fun place with a lot of fun discussions tomorrow night!

yeah... i wouldn't want to be the guy explaining the BCS stuff...

LSU vs Arkansas, 'Bama vs Auburn, Ohio State vs Michigan all 3 games were fantastic!

And the UCF vs USF game was pretty good too!

Can't believe that Alabama would risk a 57 yard field goal instead of just going to OT.

I can understand Saban not trusting Cade Foster after his performance, but I don't know how he expected Adam Griffith to pull it off. I suppose he thought that Bama had nothing to lose, but it lost them the game. Of course, there were other missed opportunities to put it away. I also don't know why Drake didn't play in the second half.

Anyway, props to Auburn for not giving up when they were down. It's going to be interesting to see who play for the NC.

Because the thought of the other team actually intercepting that field goal and running it 109 yards for a touchdown return is pretty much unheard of. If they missed it normally, they'd go into OT. Guy catches it, runs, and gets stopped, they go into OT. Seems boneheaded NOT to try it. But, then that happened!

It's rare, but Odell Beckham Jr. did it two months ago in the LSU-UAB game. The problem is that the FG team are a bunch of fat cows who can't run. Really only have to make a couple of guys miss. Kind of shocking it doesn't happen more frequently.

I wonder if more teams will put a running back in the end zone to receive bad punts.

The chances of making a 57 yard field goal are slim to none. Way too much can go wrong (bad snap, fumbled snap, blocked, etc.) to risk it.

As much as I'd love to see tOSU going to #2, I think Auburn should be #2.

With that said, there's one more game left for most everyone. tOSU will face #11 Michigan State for the Big 10 title. I wonder what Urban Meyer was thinking, while following the Bama/Auburn game on the bus ride back from Ann Arbor, I mean, he and Nick Saban were not on friendly terms when Meyer was at University of Florida.

Who's the other half of the SEC Championship game? North Carolina?

The SEC Championship game will be Auburn vs. Missouri.

I think you're both crazy. Before today, Auburn has beat no one great. Granted, they now have the best win out of anyone in the nation, but they have beat a bunch of all right teams and no one else. You know whose argument is equally shaky? Missouri's, a team who lost at home against its one marquee opponent - South Carolina.

The funniest part of it all is that FSU has played a worse schedule than OSU (or Auburn or Mizzou, by far) according to every ranking around, but no one is doubting their resume. The Famous Jameis hype makes up for their mediocre schedule.

Just wanting to clarify, I'm talking about tomorrow's standings. I think of tOSU beats MSU, then they should be #2. With their beating 3 ranked teams at that point (#11 MSU, #16 Northwestern, #23 Wisconsin).

You have a very valid point with FSU's schedule, they were able to get the coveted "style points", the same way Baylor had the experts convinced they should have been #3 instead of tOSU. I'm hoping someday we'll get a tourney where we get the conference champions playing against each other.

who is tOSU ?

The Ohio State University

Going to have to disagree here. Florida State beat 3 ranked opponents in a 4 week period earlier this season by a combined score of 155-28.

Oct. 5th FSU vs. #25 Maryland 63-0

Oct. 19th FSU @ #3 Clemson 51-14

Nov. 2nd FSU vs. #7 Miami 41-14

So, yeah, get back to me when tOSU beats 2 Top Ten teams.

Going off when a team was ranked is the wrong way to look at things, given that Maryland at 25 is/was/and always will be a joke, Clemson is still an overrated 13, and Miami is now unranked. Sagarin has FSU's SOS at 66 http://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/sagarin/

Alabama has no claim to a BCS title game if OSU beats MSU. Missouri shouldn't either even if they beat Auburn. Auburn is really the only team with a case to leapfrog an undefeated OSU and a tough case at that.

What would be fun is if MSU beats OSU and Missouri beats Auburn, Missouri should be #2, but I wonder how close Bama finishes as #3.

The AP poll has the top 5 as

Florida State
Ohio State
Auburn
Alabama
Missouri

Assuming that both Florida State and Ohio State win their conference championship games they should play in the BCS title game.

What do you think would happen if OSU and Florida St loses? The probability of that happening is almost 0 but there have been a lot of wtf moments this season. I just want to throw that out there. You would have to think that the SEC champ would get a birth, who do you think would get the other between Florida St., OSU and Alabama? :D

If Florida State and Ohio State both lose their conference championship games, then I think the winner of the SEC and the Big Ten should play for the title. I don't think Alabama should be in the mix because they didn't win their conference.
