A worthwhile field of study to be sure. :)

How do you get an A+? At my college the max grade is an A. The max grade at my HS was an A. Do A+ even exists?

University can set whatever grading system they want. I've seen some universities with 33 point grading system before.

Our school works in 9.0 point grading. A+,A,A-,B+,B,B-,C+,C,D,F (A+=9.0, D=1.0). I actually don't like this grading system at all since a person with an A- average will end up with a 7.

3.33/4 does sounds a lot better than 7/9 trust me.

I'm in first year at University of Glasgow, doing maths (calculus and algebra), physics (thermal physics, dynamics and relativity and optics, waves and lasers) and computer science (programming - Ada, and Human Computer Interface).

In year 2 you drop a subject (which will be physics for me as it's too complicated) and I want to graduate with a degree (or honours degree) in Maths.

I want to be a highschool/secondary school maths teacher. Which means after this I will need to do a post grad in teaching for a year.

Everyone elses courses sound really interesting.

English Lit and Political Science. And Spanish, probably, as it would be a breeze. And I'm taking courses on the side to get all my TEFL certifications, like CELTA and DELTA. So yeah. Fun. :)

Majoring in Finance at Penn State. May be going for an international business minor. If you can read the next couple lines, you can probably figure out why...

Hello. Salve. Ni hao. Annyunghasayio. Konnichiwa.

Hoping to be an entrepreneur someday.. hmm... *takes over world*

As for the high school GPA thing, I don't think that the awarding of over 4.0 is too bad. There's been grade inflation, but admissions officers aren't stupid. And, many schools look at "unweighted GPA" as well as the weighted GPA, i.e. looking at honors courses on the 4.0 scale instead of 5.0. What kinda sucks is going to a smart school, and getting a relatively lower class rank than if you had gone to a worse school. (Feels as if my school sent a couple dozen people to the Ivy's last year.) Eh, C'est la vie. I still like my school =)

What the hell do you do with a major in Medieval European History?

History scholars are really important. Not only do they have significant control over the commerce of thought for generations, but when you (not you, grapes, but the general "you"), someday, are forced to face the question "What does it mean to be?" -- well, the history major is going to have a real leg up on those who haven't studied humans in the diversity of their contexts.

I was a philosophy major. Now I'm an English teacher. And though philosophy single handedly KILLED my GPA, I don't regret studying the "impractical" in the least. I can't imagine my life without philosophy.

Why do we not do more to celebrate the useless?:)

5th year, Chemistry and Economics major (not going to finish Econ, University of California, Irvine doesn't offer an Econ minor, so I'm just going to graduate as a Chemistry major).

the job lined up for me is a business sales/distribution manager, so I'm planning on working there for a couple years and getting my MBA degree.

My main objective is writing music, though, so music education (either teaching piano or learning audio engineering) is a definite possibility after I graduate.

I'm a philosophy major :) I might major in history as well if I feel like it (already took many history classes, so I'm about halfway there already, so why not?). Not sure what to do afterwards - law school maybe. I enjoy philosophy enough to continue and get a Ph. D, but I'm not sure if I should :p

Double majoring in Computer Science and E-Business. Thinking about getting a minor in mathematics but as it is I'm already graduating 2 years "behind schedule".
