Hopefully this is just a bug that will be fixed soon.
I haven't noticed this at all with iPhone 8 Plus or iPad Pro 10.5 🤞

Perhaps a bug with memory management that's only affecting the newer hardware configs?
It could be. Also I wonder if a Reset All Settings would fix this... has anyone tried it yet.
I can't try it right now.

Having the same issue. If you want to contribute to getting Apple to fix this, consider filing a bug report here:

Isn't this kinda been happening all the time though? Besides Apple apps, I fell like I can't trust any other app to be back where it was, more recently lovely Google Keep that forgot everything I wrote in a note.

Really hope they get their s*** together for next year because, besides Apple Watch (for me) there wasn't a single update that went smoothly, I was excited about Apple's AR vision, now I'm scared.

I think here is a perfect example where AI might be used to adjust a feedback loop. I think the idea is very good. We don't want connections and hundreds of half-alive apps live all the time. Let customers take a test, a button to push, and you could adjust the reaction times, how long to hang on to which connection by reviewing a list of your connections. I mean, AirPods can adjust your volume and equalization by having a mic in your ear and using AI on the soundstage of your timpani and your brain. Surely they could make something like that for all kinds of functions on your phone.

I thought it was just me. I literally can’t multitask on my iPad Pro 11” anymore. I’ll jump from safari to reply to an email, come back to safari and my session is gone and it reloads the page. Extreme frustration. Fix this Apple !

So iOS is running into the same legacy issues as Windows? LOL! It only took Apple 12 years to realize how hard it is to maintain multiple platforms with different hardware specifications as Microsoft has had since the very beginning...
I don't think these are legacy issues. In the contrary, the legacy of well written code foundation is what keeps them afloat. But the rot is eating it away...
Intel to ARM transition will be interesting times, i don't think they can pull it off in current state.

If Steve were alive...

He’s pass it off as his usual snake oil “you don’t know you need it yet” bull and it would be crappier than it is now.

Are you suggesting that users that have issues say nothing and quietly go along with the notion that everything just works?

#WeKnowTheTruth
No, I’m suggesting the usual suspects on these forums are conjuring up more Apple hate. I’d put money down that half of them aren’t even having issues. It’s a trolling opportunity. It doesn’t take a genius to see who those 15-20 people are.

Unfortunately, this is true. On an iPhone 11 Pro Max, opening the Camera app and taking a single picture is enough to crash Safari.

If you have a Screen Recording active, it will crash that as well when you take a picture (I tried to take a video to demonstrate).

Yes a number of us on beta testing saw this starting in first 13.2 beta. It seems to be especially a problem in safari for us, but we have not noticed the other issues yet (at least I have not)
Another proof that reporting the problems in the feedback app is wasting of time. Because they don’t care and don’t read our feedbacks. They are only bringing new broken features and only updating for new devices but don’t care about bugfixes anymore.

The whole iOS 13 is major failure on Apple's part. From weird shortcut placement changes through horrible app moving/deleting experience to now this. Can't believe a huge company can't get their software right. That's what they've always been tooting their horn about: creating great hardware and software to go along with it.

Lol at this rate I’m never leaving iOS 12

Definitely give it some time, especially if you depend on your phone. I have been let down multiple times with ios13 including

  • Trying to set a meeting with a client and opening Calendar to be presented with a blank screen. Same thing after closing the app and reopening.
  • Safari completely unresponsive, yet when I open Brave, the same page opens immediately.
  • Mail experiencing same issues, inability to retrieve messages beyond the header.

Im running an XR and I never had these issues prior to ios13. It's not always, but enough to cause me upgrade regret.

OF course 'Sniper 3D' and apps that I don't need work perfectly. Its literally only the productivity tools I depend on!

is Apple still working on the car?
Would you buy an Apple Car off the makers of iOS 13?

‘Don’t worry, we’ll fix the bugs in the brakes in a few months. The brakes will fail to work for only a small amount of users.’

Seriously, if Apple is working in the car and want the watch to be a trusted device with medical functionality used by consumers, insurers and medical professionals, they need to seriously curtail the marketing milestone driven approach that that have to iOS releases.

I suspect that that approach is seriously impacting their software quality (and leading to a significant amount of employee attrition in engineering I shouldn’t wonder).
