I see a lot of responses talking about people and money. But it seems the issue is more around management and org design than the company doesn’t have enough engineers. It‘s executives at the top who decided to have one big software release every September. The company needs a rethink about how software is released. It shouldn’t be tied to new iPhones every September. Chunk it out and release new features quarterly.

Tim Cook is doing a fine job as CEO. IN fact i think he is much better than Steve Jobs because he is pricing everything correctly. Not to forget he is the pioneer of smart watches and there is nothing better than apple products on the market.

All the negative feedback is just from apple hating shorters who want a piece of the money. I think this entire multitasking ”issue” is overblown - you guys don’t know how to manage memory and apple knows best because they have smart engineers that close apps that take up too much memory! Thank goodness I only use one app at a time because that would be dumb as heck to use two Simultaneously eating up all my precious memory for nothing.

Couple updates deep and still having issues... Where’s Steve Jobs when you need him?

Yes, it's happening... in some apps sooner than others.
This has nothing todo with Background app refresh, but with the time the apps get to stay alive in the background. Apple shouldn't kill them. We could be doing research and have apps with information opened in the background to consult as needed.

I really hope this is just a bug and not on purpose. If it was on purpose, then Apple really messed up this time. It would make my iOS devices practically useless.

Apple is superior in multtasking - why are you guys slandering apple? I mean I have ZERO issues whatsoever and I don’t get the apple hate!

You guys need to rethink how you use apps on a phone device. There is absolutely zero reason to worry because apple engineers do this for a reason - that is to save battery life. I personally welcome this “change” if it is indeed a new feature. I love apple products they are just fantastic!

Good sarcasm is when it takes a second or two to realize its sarcasm.

Do a search in the Amazon app, then switch away, then go back 10 minutes later. See if your search still is showing.

I personally don’t care for the amazon app - I just use safari to browse amazon and have zero issues so far with 13.2

If you switch back 10 minutes later, obviously iOS is doing its job right! It clears the memory so that apps have a chance to seek success. Love this technology so awesome!

That's because RAM management in iOS 13.2 is absolute garbage. I'm almost certain this is a bug and will hopefully be fixed in 13.2.1 or 13.3.

Yes, this happens on every app. I could be writing a note in Evernote, then go and reply to a message and come back, and i'm back on the search in Evernote. Or I'm reading an article in the NYTimes app and come back and I'm not back on the main page! I have to again find the article and scroll to where I was.

This is just one of the NUMEROUS bugs in iOS 13. The supposed easy of connecting to your iPods is also awful. Most of the time if I'm using a bluetooth speaker, and then I get a phone call I will answer it and then put in my airpods. But it will not connect to them.

I can go on unfortunately, but I won't. Other uses I'm sure feel the same.

Back in the days of the OS X public beta, Steve Jobs took the stage and thanked the public beta testers for their contributions and feedback and said that as a result we are getting a much better OS. Fast forward to today and since the current public beta program was established, Apple has never, not once, recognized public beta testers and/or their contributions.

Release after release of Apple software lately has been a parade of various forward facing obvious bugs, some of which are eventually fixed, but only after months and months of subsequent maintenance releases, and some never get fixed at all. In the meantime, users just have to live with the mess.

So much for the public beta program. Seems like it’s more of a PR stunt than a genuine effort to fix bugs ahead of the public release Even if the public beta program didn’t exist, some of the bugs like the memory management issue with iOS 13 (iPhone and iPad) shouldnt be present in a release version under any circumstance because its so freakin obvious.

Was wondering why I didn’t experience this issue. Then I realised I’m still on iOS 13.2 beta 4. Guess I’ll wait for 13.2.1

Indeed. If Apple wants iPads to be able to replace notebooks they must address this. Ironically this is worse on my iPad Pro than my iPhone; my need for multitasking is much greater on the iPad!
I also dont see it on my 11 Pro Max, just my iPad Pro gen 3

All fine here with iPhone 7. Just tried this: while reading these very comments:
- pressed the home button
- opened YouTube
- started playing the video
- paused the video
- pressed the home button
- reopened Safari, which opened at exactly the same comment I left it out without reloading
- pressed the home button
- reopened YouTube with the video still paused where I left it
- continues playing YouTube video as normal

Am I missing something? FWIW, mine was a fresh full iOS 13.1 installation via iTunes.

Wow, hyperbole much? THis is the reason why iOS > android because it only needs little ram to work right. Imagine what a waste it would be if iOS had 8GB or even 12GB RAM! Apps would close even faster because why would you want to use more than one app at a time on an iPhone device? Apple made the right decision to limit RAM on the devices. If I could argue I would tell apple to only supply 2GB ram because that would make the device work incredibly efficiently. Only one app at a time and that’s all you need!

I thought I was going crazy but there have been issues with RAM ever since 13.2 install. I hope Apple releases a fix soon. iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Couldnt believe when this happended to me. Opened a safari page, went to a pdf in email for like 10 seconds, went back to safari and the whole page was refreshed. All of my entry was gone.

Come on now, a handful of people twittering their “problems” does not mean there are real bugs/issues with ios 13.2 - Extremely dubious right after Q3 earnings report too...

I am not having this issue on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I have tried switching between many apps, but no reloading is occurring.
Same for me. It’s just my 1 TB 12.9 iPad Pro gen 3 that has issues. My phone has been great for me

I haven't noticed this issue on my Xr but the Music app has a bug. I can't control songs from the lock screen any more. It won't even show the name of the song that's playing.

I refuse to believe that this is intentional. It HAS to be a bug, otherwise this is a HUGE step backwards.

It's not a bug. It's intentional. Apple has gone to S**t and they don't care about UI/UE anymore. I was excited to get an iMac last year after years or running snow leopard on my 2009 Macbook Pro. the new software and hardware both suck. My mouse and keyboard keep disconnecting from bluetooth, an iMac with upgraded RAM and SSD that's less than 1 year old takes forever to boot up. It's ridiculous. Apple is a money grab company now. I'm glad Huawei is leading in China. I already dumped my iPhone from a OnePlus 7 Pro and it runs better than any iPhone i've had.
