I've noticed it using my SE on any version of iOS 13. As soon as you press home button from YT and return, YT reloads. I just assumed that OS was using more RAM and leaving less for apps. I'm glad to see it's a bug.

Wow, hyperbole much? THis is the reason why iOS > android because it only needs little ram to work right. Imagine what a waste it would be if iOS had 8GB or even 12GB RAM! Apps would close even faster because why would you want to use more than one app at a time on an iPhone device? Apple made the right decision to limit RAM on the devices. If I could argue I would tell apple to only supply 2GB ram because that would make the device work incredibly efficiently. Only one app at a time and that’s all you need!
If that was the case I wouldn't use an iOS device. While I don't keep every app open on my phone at once, it's nice to have 4-6 frequently used apps open, especially if I'm multitasking and frequently switching between them.

It's not a bug. It's intentional. Apple has gone to S**t and they don't care about UI/UE anymore. I was excited to get an iMac last year after years or running snow leopard on my 2009 Macbook Pro. the new software and hardware both suck. My mouse and keyboard keep disconnecting from bluetooth, an iMac with upgraded RAM and SSD that's less than 1 year old takes forever to boot up. It's ridiculous. Apple is a money grab company now. I'm glad Huawei is leading in China. I already dumped my iPhone from a OnePlus 7 Pro and it runs better than any iPhone i've had.
Nope. This is bug for some people. One plus is ****.

Definitly a bug. I though it's a bug with my old iPhone 7 - looks like just an ios issue.

Example:

1. watching netflix
2. received sms. open
3. going back to netflix - it's closed...

I have just tried replicating it on my iPhone 7 and everything worked as it should. Watching Netflix, receive a message, click on the message banner to open, double click the home button to reveal all the open apps, click on Netflix and it opens with the video I was watching paused exactly where I left it before opening that message. Press play, it continues playing.

Tim Cook is doing a fine job as CEO. IN fact i think he is much better than Steve Jobs because he is pricing everything correctly. Not to forget he is the pioneer of smart watches and there is nothing better than apple products on the market.

All the negative feedback is just from apple hating shorters who want a piece of the money. I think this entire multitasking ”issue” is overblown - you guys don’t know how to manage memory and apple knows best because they have smart engineers that close apps that take up too much memory! Thank goodness I only use one app at a time because that would be dumb as heck to use two Simultaneously eating up all my precious memory for nothing.

Is it hard to see the light up top when you're this far in the bag for Apple?

Those that are having these issues - you guys need to reboot your devices. I’ve never had any problems whatsoever a bunch of slander if you asked me. Multitasking is far better on iOS than any other mobile os. In fact why would you care to use two apps at the same time on a phone? Ludicrous! Just let the ios manage your apps it does this for a reason and obviously these people have no clue why. Stick with android if you want faulty multitasking.

Was unsure if this was satire. Watch the keynote from Apple’s own WWDC presentation about iPadOS. Now try to do use these features on 13.2 (specifically). They are no longer dependable, especially Safari tabs and windows. I’ve been a heavy user of iOS since the original iPhone and closely follow the development of the platform. This is not how multitasking on iOS is supposed to work in 2019.

Hoping for a fix soon.

Long live the forever beta product! (This is not only apple but every software/hardware company)

I’ve been an Apple fan since iPhone 3gs & in my opinion ios13 is the worst release ever. So many bugs, so many issues. This would not have happen in the days of Steve Jobbs.

The problem is that this crap KEEPS happening on many software lines in the company and no heads ever roll.

Apple is simply holding a high enough internal standard for releases and tackling existing issues.

Glad I'm still on 12.4 and will be for a while!

Me too - Not touching iOS 13 with a 50' pole

I'm only seeing this when I use the camera app on iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Oh - well - at least that's not important...
Nobody uses the camera, right? :p :D

I really cannot tell if you are serious or being a sarcastic. In one hand, you sounded really serious and defend Apple at all cost. on other hand, it sounds like you are just being sarcastic.

I don't know. At least I don't have to worry my notes being deleted while I went to Chrome check something else. And this is from low end Moto G with only 2GB of RAM.

And I do have this issue on my XS. Safari is the worst offender, but other apps are affected too.

Weird. I will test it also on my 2018 9.7-inch iPad and see what will happen.

EDIT: Working OK on iPad also. But my friend with iPhone 8 complained that Whatsapp is always reloading.

Or perhaps Apple will brick more devices and then the problem becomes moot because there is nothing to manage.... Need to find someone who mimics Jobs's idea of management and put these devs in a place where they either say your timelines are too aggressive and push back on Tim or stop releasing garbage that isn't ready yet. It's tarnishing the brand and trust going out the window in droves.
It just works = buggy difficult to use

Same here, leave YouTube for a few seconds the video is lost, my only solution is turning on Watch History. Then when it refreshes go there click on that video; frustrating.

Well I have to say that on iOS devices, You Tube has gone from being a decent experience on iOS 12, the THE WORST experience on iOS 13, all versions! If you dare pause a video and do anything else, return to the You Tube app and it will reload every.....single....time!
In fact one time it went back to the home screen of my iPhone XR! It’s crap and a very very very poor user experience and Apple has NO excuse for it when iOS 12 worked perfectly fine.

just another example of their lack of care or quality or competence to make an is for their own devices, and instead shove it out the door as fast as possible and force it onto users so they can proclaim to their share holders how many users have updated...

But Apple has a history with crap software, iOS 11 was an utter joke, an embarrassment to the entire tech industry and anyone who worked on it should have been fired!

I haven't noticed on iOS really. But I HAVE noticed this on MacOS when switching between user profiles. It has to reload everything, where before it did not.

Definitely seeing this issue on my iPhone 8. Sucks because you'll lose stuff you were composing or forms you were filling out and paused to check on info from another app.

Lol at this rate I’m never leaving iOS 12
Luckily it’s still a option for you. I got an 11 pro after no new phone since the 6s+ (awesome device) and 13 has been an absolute turd. I didn’t like the app changes in 12 after being happy with 10, but with the user aggressive refinements turned up to 13, I’m super pissed. The whole system continually fights me and it’s taken minutes just to post this

Oh man I just lost half of day of logo design when my adobe sketch closed upon resuming from another app

Wow
If that happened to me one time and I'd be DONE with iOS/iPad for actual work..
