What makes you think this launch is going to be so huge? The iPhone has been losing a bit of ground against it's competitors recently and simply making the screen a bit bigger isn't going to make people run out and buy it, especially if it's only taller.

Sure, they will sell plenty of them, but I expect a rather lack-luster launch.

Because its Apple! It has to be better because its Apple!

First off, if you're still in denial, you need help.

Second, what more do you guys want? iOS is an excellent OS and has a great UI. It's functional, easy to use and very fluid.

This iPhone will have a bigger screen, unibody design, better dock connector, 4G LTE, more speed, better camera etc etc. How is that a bad update?

I know they didn't increase width, but we haven't even seen it get revealed yet. Wait until September 12.

War between iOS and Android!

You know, when Steve was still alive, there was a chance for Android to beat iOS. But now that Steve is in heaven, God is on our side and there is absolutely no chance iOS will lose!!! :D

Death to Android Satan from the underworld!!! (i forgot, android satan is already dead) :D

You do realize that these "high-res" displays are completely useless, since unless you are a nearsighted geek who looks at the screen from 2", you can't see pixels anyway.

It's the same with all the idiots in the video world, who keep insisting that you have to buy a 4k-ready AVR, even though they'll hook it up to a 50" and sit 12' from it (at which distance 720p would be enough).

It's meaningless numbers.

I sold out for Flash :)

I bought the new iPad, I also had a original iPad the resolution is far better and very noticeable. Its really stunning display and you may be right about pixels and what not but all I know is my iPhone 4s and iPad both have beautiful display screens To many people it's enough to get someone to buy it. For me I wanted to give my kids the iPad and did just that. Apple always has selling point the iPhone 5 will be no different what that feature is who knows but I would put my money on it being a feature that is a "game changer"

And iOS is in the heavens or should I say in the iClouds flying with the angels :D

the apple of the past was not as successful as the apple of right now and didn't have everybody spying and coping the **** out of them. they are just protecting what is theirs, they don't like thieves neither do i. they have realized they can also get a good chunk of money for claiming what IS THEIRS.

those koreans be crazy dude, ARGH.

they are not fearless, they are afraid, you think $2,5 billions is easy for ANYBODY in the world? that can put some pressure even on Carlos Slim's shoulders dude.

but what do you want them to do? cry on television? they need to make people believe they are the good guys(SAMSUNG), that they haven't done anything just make what "apple had" better and falsely accusing apple of stealing when they know some **** they had is not patented so they have no right to protect it.

kthxbye :)

Spot on sir!! :)

This is the most drastic generational change since it launched. I don't know what else you guys are expecting, and neither do you.

- HD front facing camera
- maintaining that solid feel but lightening the phone a little (heavy in pocket)
- better processor (based on a15?)
- Sonys new updated lens for the rear camera

Oh so awful looking. Looks so unproportional.

It's funny. People ask for a larger screen, yet complain when they finally add one. Apple can't win.

Don't forget it being 7.6mm - thinner than rivals like the S3.

I didn't jump ship last year when they stuck with the tiny screen, I figured I can put up with it another year. I like iOS, I like the build quality. I'd rather not move all my contacts and learn a new OS.

But, I'm sorry, I browse the net on my phone. I type emails. I message. I watch videos. The screen is kinda central to my use of a smartphone.

I'm not waiting another year for Apple. The S3 appears to be simply a better phone. If the leaks are correct, I'd get a feature parity with the new iPhone, but just a tiny bit larger screen in an uglier phone.

All Apple simply HAD to do with this update was bring a modern sized screen to the table. Why are you forcing me leave Apple???!!!!

My reasoning is only based off the past 5 years, where every single launch has been bigger than the last... that's all.

Whilst I kinda believe the leaks are of the new phone, I actually don't believe this one? To me that plastic looks a bit too cheap for Apple?

Anyway next month, next month, next month........... :D

I am also very glad I ignore all people stating their opinions on what the iPhone looks like, because I personally though the iPhone 4 was damn ugly, really awful, I joined in with many others too, and then I saw it in the flesh and something clicked and I think it is a design legend! It is an awesome luxurious design.

I want a larger screen, but one that's wider so websites are easier to read. Going into landscape mode you lose a lot of content. It's like looking in between blinds.
