I couldn't disagree more. Maps have seen very little updates where I live since the initial launch. And I have not gotten a single response from a map correction report nor has a single issue I have sent to Apple been fixed. There are a huge number of threads on this forum about this very thing. If anything Apple has a terrible system setup to make corrections (mostly because they don't own the data).

I agree with this. Probably it's because I'm in the UK rather than the US where they seem to be concentrating all their effort (don't know about you) but, hey, maps are global by nature, as is the iPhone. They need to sort this out.

I guess it's a good thing the OP probably wasn't around for Cheetah....

He would be ready to riot or something.....

How is it productive putting down those that share an opposite viewpoint just because they don't agree (I see lots of references to fanboy and troll and how is this helping anything or not being insulting)? So these threads are only supposed to be for those that agree with the complaints and all else should stay out unless they somehow come to offers solution or change their viewpoints to match the rant of the thread?
I see lots of these threads with nothing more than the intention of a modern day witch hunt and if your sentiments don't agree then stay out. How does that make these threads any sort of discussion? A discussion is an exchange of ideas and viewpoints and not a rally to gather the troops before the sacrifice.
Repeatedly posting in threads something along the lines of "I don't see any issues. You are all doing it wrong." doesn't make for a discussion. You can certainly post that, that's perfectly fine, but to repeatedly keep on making those statements and nothing more, what does that add? If you don't care about the issues, then it probably doesn't make much sense to spend much time posting about them, right? Again, nothing wrong with stating an opinion, but to keep on going after people telling them they are wrong because you don't care about the issues doesn't make room for a discussion.

It's like someone coming to a support group for people with some sort of an issue and just keep on piping up all the time saying they don't have that issue and they don't see why others should have it and that those people are just wrong. Yes, it's a free discussion, and yes everyone can have an opinion, but you must see the silliness of doing that, right? I certainly hope you do.

Can't hate it more.

Much less intuitive. Full of bugs. Extremely slow. Irresponsive touch. Crashing and rebooting with frequency. Battery hogging.

All that for nothing in return.

Cook issued an excuse letter for Maps app inaccuracy, huh? That is because he could just blame someone else. I have many GPS/Maps applications with years in the market and they all have mistakes. The issues with Maps accuracy are nothing compared to this IOS7 mess.

Who also think Cook should also issue an excuse letter?

Between immediate family, extended family, friends and colleagues, I've seen at least 4 dozen iPhones and iPads running iOS 7. From ipad 2 and mini to ipad 4; from iPhone 4 to 5S and everything inbetween. They all work great, and none exhibit the issues you describe. I think that, like everything else, a small percentage of users have issues because a small percentage of devices have issues. Sorry yours does. Sorry that those who do like you, end up at the triage desk of the ER that MacRumors forums are. But by and large - iOS 7 is great and I don't expect any apology letter from anyone.

What are you adding to this discussion with your repeated berating of people. I have seen essentially the same thing repeated by you again and again in and around many threads and it has helped how? You have said the same thing again and again and changed nothing but since your opinion supports the thread it is fie and productive? Sorry I don't see it. I
You might want to change your tactics as I have initially. not threatened, attacked, nor provoked anyone and yet you feel the need to constantly claim this about my posts. I have claimed they are misguided or wrong if they are summarizing what I have said (as that was not what was said at all) , but have never denied them their opinion not told them to stop posting it as it was worthless. Guess I am just not filled with the awesomeness and knowledge that you possess and your going on and on with regards to me is any different how??

I responded to you about this particular subject since you were discussing it and responding to me. I wasn't picking you out to say something in particular about you. My comments have been on that particular subject of what happens in threads where people want to discuss some issues they experience, not about what you particularly post.

I have nothing but good memories from the transition of IOS4 to IOS5 and IOS6.

Each time we got real improvements, better performance, less bugs, and much better experience.

Jobs would never have allowed IOS7 to leave to market with so many flaws. Text that are actuallu buttons, crashes at last once a day, bugs so stupid that resemble Microsoft lack of care... And it is NOT more beautiful, it is just different.

First of all iOS 7 is a brand new OS. Like no other iteration of iOS ever before it.
Second of all you have no idea what you're talking about. Steve Jobs shipped buggy stuff all the time. See MobileMe, iTunes etc. It's the nature of the game.

Hmmm... OS X 10.0 comes to mind... ;)

I'd like to see Apple do a better job of testing before releasing such a bug ridden "upgrade". I understand why they rushed it out, but it's a very frustrating experience. In the past they've done a much better job.

Once a premier company, they're sliding into mediocrity, like a fat and happy run of the mill sluggish corporation.

Indeed. That was an "interesting" experience.

Not really.

Every major version of OS X was released with bugs. Some with major bugs and others with performance issues that made them almost unusable.

Every major version of iOS had bugs. iOS 4 on an iPhone 3G was far worse than this.

I have had just as many issues with Google maps as iOS maps. I still don't understand the complaints.

I find that astonishing, to be honest.

Google Maps has pinpoint accurate location data, Apple Maps to this day is still getting locations and landmarks where I live, sometimes miles off target.

Every time i pick up my phone to use it now, i'm reminded of how stupid i feel for updating. I'm NEVER doing this crap again.
It doesn't even feel like an iphone anymore.

As a GI professional all I can say about that is HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA.

Google Maps is FAR from perfect. In fact there are areas where Apple Maps is better and vice versa. There are also areas where G Maps are better.

Honestly no maps system is perfect. I would agree overall that G Maps are better than Apple Maps, but in the UK Bing maps are actually better (with the exception of Street View which is unique to google)

Never actually tried Bing maps on a mobile, is there an app? I've always found GM to be bang on when I've entered a postcode.

Apple Maps, clearly though, sets the presentational standard.

you can always move to the bug-free Android. No one here is compelled to stick with iOS. Consumers have lots of choice. Heck Nokia's Windows 8 based phones are also pretty neat.

Opinions, nothing more ...
I could agree with you only regarding battery life.
Never had any reboot or crash since iOS 7, and I find it better than iOS 6 in almost every aspect.

Maps was bad, but iOS7 is a disaster. I don't expect an apology, however, an acknowledgement on behalf of Apple that there is a problem would be very welcome.

Ive should go back to hardware, and a new head of software design should be hired.

You are right....

But why would OP pass up an opportunity to start another rant...... I mean you would never have guessed about issues with iOS 7, without this thread.....would you?

Instant gratification, trading insults and few moments of internet fame is the norm these days....

Hell, even Taliban may start posting on MR - what better to rile up crowd into a frenzy against the big bad corporations....

And I assume you came to this conclusion with all the market research, due diligence and of course you had all the access to inner workings of Apple.....

You are not Scott Forstall by any chance, are you??

Are you the official defender of the whiners on this forum ?

Almost every your post is about that ...

It's good to have people telling about problems to find solutions, it could be helpful for all of us, but thread like this are absolutely nonsense, and to have many threads like this is just boring ....

The more I've used iOS7 the more I love it!! No way I'd go back to 6. As for maps, Apple maps are better for me than google by a considerable margin. Google maps doesn't even have the street I live on spelled correctly. I have reported it to them for over a year and still no change.

I understand a few people are struggling and that sucks. I never ran 7 on my 4S and upgraded to 5S which was my first experience with 7. Maybe it's the 5S but 7 runs great, smooth, and is extremely fast.

There are a few little things I'd change but that's the case with any OS I've ever used.

Do we really need another of these threads? Mods: Can we just merge all the "I hate iOS 7" threads in to one big thread please?

Or a whole other forum - IOS7, IOS6,,, I hate the latest, last next IOS forum

----------

right after Microsoft apologizes for every software product they have released. They are still doing fixes for old old software. Or how about every other software / hardware manufacturer.
I think this is a great release and works as well or better than any previous version.

Come on who's fooling who? IOS 7 is slow on the iPhone 5. And yes, it's buggy.
