That's some tight code...on my Powerbook I can play a 720P h264 file from the optimised command line mplayer and use 95% CPU - Coreplayer plays the same file using 60%. Make you wonder what an entire OS would have been like with that amount of efficiency...

I've heard so much of this app here on this forum so I grabbed a copy while the grabbing was good.
Only time will tell if I find a use for it or not.

Oh my God! Yeees! Finally!!!
Watching 720p h264 without frame drops on my 1.5GHz PowerBook. I have yet to try it on my Dual 1.25GHz MDD and iMac G5, but I'm really impressed!

Is there any way to redirect YouTube video-streaming to CorePlayer or a download option for YT videos on PPC?
On Safari/Webkit (Leopard only) Clicktoplugin allows you to view Youtube as the native Flash or in Quicktime, in addition, you can single click download the video in various formats/resolutions.
In TFF there are various extensions you can install that roughly do the same but I find them a bit clunkier than CTP. Quicktime Enabler is often mentioned but I've found that only reads a fraction of Youtube clips.

Great - many thanks!!!
CorePlayer, ClickToPlugin and all the other stuff I've found by the helpful advise from here...
Currently my iBooks seem to be celebrating xmas every day :)

After always having to down-convert my videos to 720p or SD I can now watch full 1080p on my G5, and it is great. Many thanks :)

Well, I guess my life is now complete. Coreplayer, like Lazarus, has been risen from the dead. Lotvai77, are you Jesus in disguise?

Played around a bit today with this CorePlayer, hard to believe just how much more efficient it seems to be judging by the decreased CPU usage.
Kudos to those who have made this available.:)

PS: now if only there was a way to use this in "PPC Media Center" app instead of Quicktime Player.

Still playing with CorePlayer, ran a test on a downloaded YouTube HD movie.
Pic 1 is using CorePlayer
Pic 2 is using Quicktime
Pic 3 is using VLC
CorePlayer seems to be the best for minimal CPU usage, plus it is relatively steady.
Quicktime uses more of the CPU, especially the System.
And VLC, well it's just all over the place.

This has me pretty psyched to try it! I had been using TFF with the QTE installed in some cases to run YouTube video (PBG4 Al 12" 1.33). I've downloaded and installed CorePlayer. Now to figure out how to get my system and/or browser to use CorePlayer as a default when possible...

heres the unboxing video btw i think it turned out rather good

Well, if you watch the whole video (make sure to take some motion sickness medicine first), he says "This is Blind PowerPC guy". Which explains the spelling issues in prior posts, the shaky as hell video and why its posted in a thread that says Coreplayer, RIP in the title.
