Costco appears to have recently started selling subscriptions to Apple services at discounted yearly prices. On the Costco website, Costco members can purchase a subscription to Apple TV+, Apple News+, or Apple Arcade at a lower cost.

Apple Arcade is available for $44.99, down from the standard yearly price of $49.99, and Apple TV+ is also available at the same $44.99 price point. Apple News+ is available for $89.99 for a year of service.

Apple does not offer a yearly subscription to Apple News+, selling it for $9.99 per month for a total yearly price of $120, so the $90 price point from Costco is a notable discount.

Costco appears to have just recently started offering Apple subscriptions for purchase, and there is a banner on the main Costco website that reads "Now at Costco. Apple TV+, Apple News+, and Apple Arcade. Get 1 year subscriptions at incredible values."

(Thanks, Jordan!)

Who in their right mind would pay 9.99$ for News+????
The WSJ (biggest paper on news+) is normally $39 a month. If you’re fine reading from the news app, it a great deal even for that one paper. Throw in access to select local papers, pop-mech and pop-sci, Time, Times of London, plus more; and News+ is sort of a bargain at $9.99.

The service isn’t targeted at people who get most of their news from cable networks, YouTube, social media, and bloggers.

I posted a thread about this in the appropriate subforum recently. Its a great product stymied by being full of garbage. All the big, reputable news sources left or never participated to begin with leaving it full of tabloidy nonsense.

So to answer your question: if I didn't have Apple One, not me.

That's cheaper than a subscription to one of the publications provided by News+ (to which I was subscribed before) so I honestly don't see how that's a bad deal.
To be fair, many people read magazines/publications/books precisely because they're an analogue medium, and they allow you to escape from tech for a brief period.

I love getting discounts on my Apple stuff. I saved so much money getting my Studio Display from Costco.
Yup, $1499. They're currently OOS. Musta been a run on them … people trying to save $100 and get it for a more reasonable cost. They're selling the 27" i5 Intel iMac for $1750. $250 more for a quite capable computer is pretty nice if you don't need the latest greatest but want a nice display. Sadly, since Timmy & Co. nixed the display port on the newer iMacs you can use them as a monitor.

Costco reduces the cost of AC+ at time of hardware purchase, it would be interesting if they offered the subscription version of AC+ for less too.

I wonder why they aren't discounting the iCloud and Apple Music subs.

Because these are the only two services people really want.

For a company that invests so much in services lately, Apple is really dropping the ball, iCloud is the worst among all the major cloud services available, it took them years to add something as simple and useful as drag&drop support, and it is still well behind in features, the only reason I have it is because it works well with the ecosystem.

Apple Music is very good; however, I find the catalogue to be much better in Amazon Music (which I get for free) and YouTube Music (which comes included with my Premium subscription), you can get titles from other countries that Apple Music doesn’t have.

All the other services (News+, TV+, Arcade, etc.) are unappealing to most. After multiple free trials offered to me, I could not sensibly justify paying for any of those services.

For current subscribers, your subscription gets extended for one year.

From COSTCO FAQ: https://subscriptionredemption.com/US0222APL/faq

Q: Can I still redeem the 1 year subscription of Apple TV+, Apple News+ or Apple Arcade if I already have a subscription?

A: Yes, your 1 year subscription of Apple TV+, Apple News+ or Apple Arcade will be added on top of your current subscription. Your next billing date through Apple will be 1 year from the date you redeemed the subscription purchased from Costco.
