Getting up early for the event.

Maybe, it's pretty early though. Heading to the pub soon so depends on how much I drink. there would be two outcomes:

1. I pass out and sleep in till 11am then race downtown with a rotten hangover to the net café to watch the stream whilst the US are slowly heading off to bed.

2. I stay up but my posts contain a fair proportion of gibberish and dodgy photoshops of products ( a la the BoonPod).

Mint.

Re: Heath Ledger...

Yeah, well Heath's from Perth so he's more South African than Australian

Pissa.

I reckon there are too many Sandgropers eastside already. Forget the South Africans. Nuff said ;).

Back on topic. Too late for me.Have to set the alarm for oohh, say 4:30am?

I was able to purchase two of the Best Of 1+hr SNL videos for only $1.99 a piece. Seems like a good deal (certainly cheaper than the DVD of the same content).

It's true! I wonder if it's a mistake that will be corrected tomorrow.

Also, the Pixar section of iTMS is empty now. I wonder if it's being moved to a new movie section or somethin. I know Disney has said they will put some of their old cartoon shorts on iTunes.

Only 9 hr and 47 min, but i doubt ill stay awake till 4 am, im allready tierd and its like only 5 pm!!! Still i can't wait to wake up to what ever steve introduces.

SNL Clips are up: iTMS Link
$1.99 per skit? Uh, no thanks. The "Best Of" ones look like a pretty good deal though (well for the few good ones anyway like Belushi, Akroyd, Ferrell, Carvey, and Farley). The Christopher Walken one is bizarre, he wasn't even a castmember, was he? If they are doing special sets for guest appearances, they need an Alec Baldwin one, he is the best SNL guest ever.

There is a free episode of Monk and a couple of new shows offered from ABC and some soap opera channel. I already started downloading a few of the "Best of" shows from the SNL collection. They are 15 bucks at the store so $1.99 is a steal!

TO BILL BRASKY!!!

Does anyone think Apple has been underestimating Rosetta speed publicly to keep G4 sales up. Oh Rosetta is pretty cool.....it will be great for your word processing apps. I mean we all know they have been working on it for 5 years. I bet it smokes the G4 configurations.
Rosetta's newer than 5 years: it's from technology from Transitive. And there's only so much possible with emulation/translation/whatever. What we've already seen Rosetta do IS pretty impressive to me. And if they've added AltiVec translation (for compatibility--not speed) then all the better.

But I do think we may see more from Rosetta than we expect, just because it has evolved for months since the last public demo.

The REAL answer for the legacy-app issue, though, is to keep selling at least one G4 model--at least quietly on the side. So people who rely on some CPU-intensive G4 app (like Photoshopping big files) and need something NOW still have an option. Apple has done this several times before (G4 PowerMacs were still made even after the G5 was out) and I expect them to again. More options means a smoother transition.

what ticks me off is - no more Classic. not that I use any apps that run in Classic anymore, but I do play Classic games from time to time. hey, a Mac gamer's got to get his jollies where he can find em right? so losing that is not so good. so I guess I'll have to hang on to my G5 forevermore, just so I can play Carmageddon II "one last time".

Was the movie tab available before or is this new?

They're just doing this stuff to play with us. they build enthusiasm, build distractions, rumors, buzz, and one heck of a backup here tomorrow, no doubt.

I'm excited to see SNL skits on the US iTunes music store-I just wish international stores would add TV shows to, and maybe the BBC should have some of their shows on it as well.

Can't wait to see if any Intel based Mac's are announced at the keynote.

The "movies" tab in the iTunes search bar has been there since movies were introduced... scratch that... video content in itunes was introduced...

Also, if the folks working at apple have nothing better to do than to mess with mac fans in the middle of the night, hours before the keynote... I sure hope steve's payin overtime...

$2 FOR SNL BEST OF! I'm downloading the Dan Akroid one now. Anyone got suggestions on which other ones are extremely good?

And to think, I bought the Apple remote today. . . (still need the AV cables, can't find them)

Highly reccommend best of Christopher Walken... you won't be sorry :)

And best of Will Ferrell can't miss as well.

So I just finished downloading "The Best of Gilda Radner" SNL video ($1.99). Its running time is 1 hour 32 minutes and took just over 30 minutes to download from the iTMS (Comcast cable connection). Not too bad for a full-length movie.
