Countdown to Macworld San Francisco (MWSF) 2006

I'm planning to sleep late, go to Apple, almost have a heart attack, read the product pages for whatever they release, read them again, load the QTVRs, watch the keynote, come to MacRumors, try to make one post and be overwhelmed by the fact that an entire page of posts were made in the time it took me to make one.

and I don't know what everyone else is talking about, for me the itchy groin syndrome peaks a few days after MWSF... :D

Late night , Keynote is @ 4am Australian time CAN NOT WAIT!

Should be a direct keynote stream?

Unlikely. Check this site and many others for "live" updates. I'll be up :)

Oooh, Steve, not cool. Why buy a pimped SL when you can easily afford the SLR? Doh!

---> loss of cool points.

I think you and I are among the few who will agree upon this.

Hehe, what to do now?? ;)

Hej, I am in Switzerland, so the keynote is gonna start at 18:00h I presume...problem is: I leave work at 18h but a girl wanted to have a drink with me at 20h downtown...should I stay or should I go???? What can I do???
I wanna see the MWSF perks, damn!! :D

Based on previous MWSFs, does anyone have an idea of WHEN the stream will be available later in the evening? Is it something like 3 hours later or what?

Not too long after... I'm going to say it was a few hours last time, but someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Always the same day, right?

Would the apple store be updated right away after the keynote ends or would we have to wait a while?

They haven't said anything on the apple web site about the new music currently on ITMS. Maybe theyre waiting till after the keynote to update the whole site.

MORE DETAILS for the plasma display from sandwich whisperer O'Grady

Interesting... The only thing I can comment on are the part codes he suggest: "Sandwich man also tells me that the part numbers are M68842LL/A for the 42-inch and M68850LL/A for the 50-inch."

Apple recently switched from codes in this format "M9250" to this format "MA394", always beginning with MA and always 3 digits. I don't see why Apple would change this.

Nice. Even part numbers. This is looking really exciting! And to think all the people poo-pooed the idea of Apple selling plasma displays. This is like October 2001 all over again. :D

Here's to the Crazy Ones
Everybody can pull partnumbers out of their ass.

ship with a 3.75GHz Yonah dual processor

Again, the fastest Yonah processor available, for at least the next few months, is a 2.16GHz dual-core processor.

3.75GHz? Maybe he is adding the two numbers up? It reminds me of the earlier 2.8GHz Yonah in the Mac Mini he said. Maybe that's 2x1.4GHz. So this would be 2x1.875GHz. There's a dual-core Yonah at 1.833GHz...

750GB HDD? Again, the largest capacity available today is 500GB. Two hard drives maybe, but then again where can you get a 375GB HD?

The other stuff sounds reasonable, but given the infeasibility of the technical specifications ...

Probably is counting the 2 processors as one.

750 GB eh? Maybe 250+500? Like the 250 set as boot.

4 and a half hours to go! F*** YEAH!

No it doesn't - you'll be at school while the rest of us, who are supposed to be working wait and refresh our browsers tabbed on Apple.com and MRLive.

Then we'll waste another three hours trying to cram in with 5 million other people trying to watch the keynote.

You get done school, you come home, and you'll know eveyrthing. Without the pain. :D
