It's gonna be either a kick ass kn or an utter disappointment, with iLife 06, new Shuffles and nothing else...

Righto everyone, I'm switching to the couch. Too pissed to sit upright now, beer makes it all better.

I don't have wireless, or broadband internet. I have the poor man's equivalent. Dial up and a 15ft phone cable.

Whoever called Steve Jobs "Steve-o-claus" a while back I'd give ya a handshake if I could stand up properly.

Wish me luck everyone, this involves carrying my iPod from my desk ALL THE WAY to the other wall in this room where my couch is. Of course, I could just go lie down on the bed but there's no telly in there.

Geeze, talk about rambling, pissed I tells ya, pissed as a fart on Macworld night.

Apple recently switched from codes in this format "M9250" to this format "MA394", always beginning with MA and always 3 digits. I don't see why Apple would change this.

I have no idea if the plasma rumor is true-- however the current 30" Apple Cinema HD Display is M9179LL/A. I don't think all current skus begin with "MA" as you state. Check for yourself before the store goes offline for the morning. Being part of many retail/web integrations-- the nomenclature makes sense to me: M68842LL/A for the 42-inch and M68850LL/A for the 50-inch

The code breaks down to M688 as the base product line and 42LL/A or 50LL/A to denote the model (as in 42-inch or 50-inch)

The 23" HD is M9178LL/A. The 30" is M9179LL/A. Product line: M917 for both. Model 8LL/A for the 23", 9LL/A for the 30" (and no, the nomenclature wouldn't be so strict to force screen size to define the model numbers)

Again-- I'm just saying these numbers do not look so fishy to me.

First time I've ever read through a 31 page thread non-stop! I feel like I should follow Chundles advice and get a drink :D
Its hilarious/frustrating to see how many peeps were posting "woah, new mac mini!!!" replies 10 or more pages after it was confirmed that they are HDD enclosures (which I kinda like the look of, but $129 for the smallest?!?)

Like many I'm praying to whatever god will listen that we get new PB's.
I've just sold my 1.67ghz Rev D, and have decided to go the smaller route if they bring out a well equiped 13.3" widescreen PB with a nice resolution, and get a Mac mini for home - especially if its a ninja-death media hub ;)
Oh, and a new Shuffle. l'm a sucker for iPods :)

If the PB has DL 16x superdrive, HD screen, Xseries/6series graphics and Dual Core cpu, I'll be getting one asap..... which unfortunately due to my overspending during xmas and the sales means end of month..... dagnabbit!!!

Do it, drinking makes all the colours brighter and the RDF goes up to 13 when you're pissed.

So this means I should get a drink with the girl downtown before going home and watching the stream? ;)

Probably the best idea I have heard so far today...

What I meant to say was that any NEW product ranges from Apple are starting to come with codes in the format MA123. Current products such as cinema displays haven't changed at all for years, all that's changed is the price and occasionally peripherals (when the iSight got its mounts updated, its code stayed the same) Current Powerbooks are using the older M1234 format, because they closely relate to the older range.

The numbers do not relate to the products size, Apple don't use a code ending with 30 for a 30" display.

MA680LL/A and MA690LL/A would have been more believable.

Absolutely, we're all waiting up for new pieces of plastic and metal. You have the chance to start something real - I wouldn't miss that for all the Macs in Cupertino.

Well, maybe not that dramatic but I'd certainly go for a drink with an interested girl than sit around waiting for the Keynote.

Come to think of it I would skip a drink with a girl for all the Macs in Cupertino - unless it was Jessica Alba.

Or Uma Thurman.

Maybe Eva Longoria too.

I'm hoping "The Champagne Edition of The Late Show" keeps me occupied, cause the two beers in the fridge are going to top me off and then I won't be able to stay up. Been home an hour now after seven hours of drinking - the RDF is going to be massive!!!

Well, it's just ticked over to 1am here, 3 hours to go....

Chundles, you Aussies are not being efficient...just take a truckload of tequila, cachaça, schnapps or whisky shots and SJ's RDF will reach outer space...why spend so much on beer??

Better yet, y're gonna be so drunk you won't even feel time passing anymore..! :p

alright I can't read through 33 pages of posts at work. so who's got the live feed? :D

No one's got a live feed. There isn't one.

Macrumours has a "lite" version of the website that will handle incoming info as it arrives from various sources inside the room but Apple isn't providing a live video feed - they haven't for quite a while.

You want to pay for all that grog for me? No tequila though, allergic to it for some reason...

i know there is alot of pages here already and i bet it will double by the end of today lol

no live video feed - only feeds are from people in the keynote and there mobile phones and laptops

best place to be is www.macrumors.com and engadget.com will have insiders on the 2nd row of the keynote :D

let me rephrase that. Who's got the live bootleg feed? :D

I know I heard somebody mention that they broadcast out to the truck, and that it gets transmitted to a satellite. Sombody last year was able to obtain a connection on the uplink feed, and bootleg it. This year they won't know if it can be done until right before the keynote starts. I don't understand why Apple themselves don't just webcast it. Microsoft streamed the CES last week...
