TO EVERYONE (just a bit of an update!):

You can now order the iphone 3g at the moment at the carphone warehouse, orders are open, but for how long? who knows... so if anyone didn't manage to order on monday or has some sort of issue (with being unsuccessful on getting their order) - then here is your chance to own a iphone 3g :apple:

I hope everyone has a great day today :D

(p.s i have just checked the forums now and there are other posts about it too, so i apologise for same information!)

An update on my story.

I got through to a very helpful guy called Dean, who let me reorder over the phone!

Instantly got to stage 2, and guaranteed delivery tomorrow. Get in!

Genius! Same thing (didn't get the guys name). As soon as I said "stage one" he took my details looked up the order, checked my PAC, confirmed a few things & gave me a new order number.

I instantly went to the online tracking and it's already on stage 2. Whoever he is, he's a legend!

Anyone still on Stage 2?

Rang them this morning and they said my order is fine and being processed. Just wants to hurry up!

Also, they tried selling me the insurance for it over the phone.. But I don't want that! :p

I placed my order on Monday with CPW, got the transaction number email and all. As I was still stuck at stage 1 I gave them a call just 10 min ago. Turns out, the very (VERY) grumpy man on the phone told me he could not find my details on the system! The order did not exist! He placed a new order for me and said I could expect delivery tomorrow between 9 and 5.

So if you are still on stage 1 or haven't heard anything, give them a call now granted you still want to give them your business. I will still register my complaint with CPW though.

did you get the email saying 'order processed ready for dispatch'???

you got me worried now

step 3 and a tracking number  looks like i won't be getting the last turkey in the shop after all:D

Where did you get the tracking number from?

Mine is still on stage 2, but i've just got the 'Ready for despatch' email.

I'm starting to wonder if their online system has some serious issues and orders have been lost en masse. My reasoning:

Order 1 placed online Monday was apparently cancelled because O2 declined it, yet I received no confirmation and the online tracking still shows it at stage 1. Speaking to them earlier by phone they have no record of this order.

Order 2 placed online this morning was accepted and I received email and text confirmation. My local store couldn't find it, and when I phoned CPW earlier they couldn't find it either. They offered to take the order (again) then and there. This order also still shows at stage 1 on the tracker.

Order 3 placed by phone went straight to stage 2 and they have confirmed (for what it's worth) that it will be delivered tomorrow.

In summary, if you have a pending order - placed online - that has not moved beyond stage 1, I'd be very suspicious!

the bloke in orders i spoke to said they had some that didnt go through, but because of how the system broke down, it failed to notify.

so those orders are in a blackhole, effectively failed, but never notified.

If you haven't had confirmation I'd definitely give CPW a ring.

I'd pre-ordered on monday and got the 2 emails saying thanks and they were out of stock, and that's the last i heard till this morning.

I called them and my order had 2 issues, the addresses were conflicting and I hadn't used my full name so the credit check didn't work. Quite why they didn't tell me there was a problem with the order I'll never know.

So the guy re-input my order, the whole lot, took payment and I've just checked my new order number and it says "Your order is being processed. Your order should arrive on Fri, 11 Jul 2008."

Fingers crossed.

The morale of the story is, don't leave the communication to CPW, give them a ring and sort it out.

My tracking number doesn't 'exist' yet either according to Citylink's site. Hope these damn phones do reach us by Friday.

i ordered mine today over the phone spoke to the same 'dean' guy that an earlier poster spoke to.. was really friendly and told me they had just been counting stock since the crazyness of monday...

anyway he said all was good mine is going to my local store by 5 tomorrow he then gave me my transaction id

but what do i do with this to check on my order and make sure its goin ok?

thanks

I suspect that's normal - companies that ship large volumes must pre-allocate the numbers and the details only show up once the goods hit the courier. I think it's a good sign that you've even got a tracking number. I'm still at stage 2. :(

when you hit step 3 it has a link with the tracking number on - clicking it opens up the *hittylink website tracking page-

Ah cool, well I got the email a couple of hours ago so it's just a case of waiting I suppose.
