As a general observation, Apple missed an opportunity in iOS 11 to make 3D touch more pervasive, more useful, and more discoverable (e.g. visual or other indications when it is available, etc.)
Maybe they will in future updates.

I don’t get the praises for this guy. iOS 11 has some severe bugs and a lot of unoptimization, it’s like it was “good enough” just release it .

I think the plan was to slowly remove 3D Touch gestures and then 3D Touch all together if there wasn't much blowback. With this recent development, 3D Touch will be around a little while longer but it's obvious Apple's looking to remove it in the long term.

Sent in direct complaints and tweets about this.

Glad it is coming back, it was THE selling feature for 3D Touch, in my use case .

I doubt that, considering how it is on macs, the watch, and integrated into so many features in iOS 11.

They should implement the swipe-to-switch-apps feature to the homebutton of existing iPhone. Most cheap Phones like those from Huawei have a similar feature on their Fingerprint scanner to swipe between photos

Great news. Please bring also back a real wifi toggle to the control center.

After that iOS 11 will be complete.

I don't really get why people get so annoyed about this.

When completely disabling WiFi, location services work odd. Sometimes you just have to enable WiFi (even when not connecting to a network) in order to get precise location updates. Leaving it enabled (which doesn't consume too much battery) but without letting it connect to a wireless network makes sense. Of course, you can always toggle it completely off in the Settings app...

On a side note.
See how he doesn’t capitalise his name.
Thinks he’s the new Steve Jobs does he?

Perhps this was the plan or due to the blowback.

I imagine there was a lot of resentment on the app switcher being removed and Apple heard about it. Either way, Apple addressed this and I like to think they listened to their customer base in this specific situation. But it's nice to know they acknowledged the concern.

Agree, Craig should be named CEO as of now.

I have worked around this with the AssistiveTouch “button” but really miss the 3D app switcher.
I am unable to understand how can someone activate this “by accident” but the world is full of such d. people.

why would you think they're trying to edge away from it? because they removed one use that they're clearly going to bring back? what about all the things in the control center that really only work (expanding the music pallet for example) with it?

I have to say I'm a fan of the fact that Craig is at least responding to customer emails, and in a rather candid fashion.

I am too. I sent one a few days ago and got a response back in a few hours.
