I don't really get why people get so annoyed about this.
When completely disabling WiFi, location services work odd. Sometimes you just have to enable WiFi (even when not connecting to a network) in order to get precise location updates. Leaving it enabled (which doesn't consume too much battery) but without letting it connect to a wireless network makes sense. Of course, you can always toggle it completely off in the Settings app...

Craig for CEO
Some of us turn off WiFi completely so we do not get tracked unless we want to be.
I'm all aboard full Wireless disable - One button for Wifi (On/PartOff/FullOff) and same for bluetooth and RFID. All must be able to be disabled completely.
Love it when Apple makes mistakes and owns up to them

Being the leader of a company requires far more than just charisma, and a knack of implementing good features. I’d say Tim is doing a great job by letting people like Craig, and many other team leaders within the company shine. Many of them are new to us after Steve Jobs Passed on.Craig should be CEO of this company (not just because of this email)
Hope you can toggle it off. Hated it. Wouldn’t work when I wanted it to and always activated when I’d be swiping to go back.
Agreed. I would regularly trigger it accidentally while playing certain games (e.g. Inks) which require a thumb on the left edge. An option in the accessibility settings pane would make sense.Oh Craig, PLEASE make it optional. It's actually annoying when you accidentally enable this crap while playing...
OK, but put the "Off" toggle behind a 3D touch gesture. The current wifi "disconnect" toggle does what I want 99% of the time.Bring back the wifi toggle!
i love that gesture too, but for people not like me or you, maybe instead of scrolling in safari will always go home and would be frustrating for them, so an option like this, will be a welcome one, if you can disable both gesture (but not both at the same time)On iPhone X, you just swipe at the bottom of the screen. Much quicker, front and back of your recent apps; it's only about 5% of times where you want to go 5 or 8 apps back trough multitask (it's quicker looking it on home screen!).
I SAW THAT iPHONE X GESTURE AS MAJESTIC; ANY BODY ELSE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY MENTIONED IT SO POORLY?
I think the plan was to slowly remove 3D Touch gestures and then 3D Touch all together if there wasn't much blowback. With this recent development, 3D Touch will be around a little while longer but it's obvious Apple's looking to remove it in the long term.
Yes I totally agree he gets Apple and what it means.Craig should be CEO of this company (not just because of this email)
No, no. Every interaction requires manhandling the phone. How hard were you swiping when going back? Because it actually requires pressure exerted just on the edge. This would mean when you initiate a swipe you'd actually be pausing on the edge and applying pressure before continuing the swipe motion. A fluid swipe without pressure would solve this issue for you.
Absolutely not. Leave day-to-day matters to Tim so Craig can work with the software engineering teams.Craig should be CEO of this company (not just because of this email)
