I have an Ipad 1 and its in desperate need of an upgrade. But I don't know I'll get the mini. Prob not due to pricing.

Yes.

Now the qualifications.

I very much like the concept of the iPad mini. However, I am disappointed with Apple's implementation of it. Based on the current specs, I do not consider it a very good value.

I will most likely purchase a iPad mini 32GB WiFi + AT&T LTE. However, my plan is to wait until after the holiday season.

It is possible (though unlikely), that Apple will refresh the iPad mini in March to give it an A6 processor and a retina display. I will be paying attention to the rumors to see if there is any indication of this coming about.

If there are rumors to this effect, then I'll wait for the refresh. If not, I will watch to see if they start to pop up in Apple's refurb section. It is possible that we will start seeing refurbs pop up in February.

Exactly what I think and plan to do

I've got no interest in the mini. I love the size of the iPad. When I need something smaller, there's the 5g touch.

Only if I sell my iPad 2. See no need for both. I've got a good offer for the iPad 2, so it would be a very cheap upgrade. Considering it.

Possibly. I'll wait until its available in stores and I take a look at the display. If it doesn't look too pixelated I MAY get it. As long as it looks better than the iPad 2 screen..which it should since its smaller and the pixels are more packed together.

Yes, for portability. I will pre-order Friday. I am spoiled with my retina iPad new old 3, and my iPhone 4S. If the screen on the Mini is unacceptable, I will simply return it.

I'm planning on going to look at them next Friday when the display units are in the stores. if there are any available and if it appeals to me I will probably pick one up. it would be nice to have a smaller form factor for easier portability.

Yes, i sold my 64 GB Wifi White iPad 3 and plan to get iPad Mini Wifi 64 GB in White!

Yepp, replacing my 16GB iPad 2 with a Black/Slate 64GB LTE iPad mini. Giving the iPad 2 to my parents for reading purposes, it'll be a very welcome upgrade.

Yes. I sold my iPad 3 to eBay for $520 an with that I'm buying an iPad mini.

There is nothing the iPad 3 can run the mini can't.

And it's half the weight. Nicer to hold longer. I want that.

You aren't concerned with the lack of retina and smaller screen size?

Why would I be? There is nothing that runs on retina that won't run on the mini. It wont look as sharp, but it doesn't look bad either. And what good is retina if I get tired of holding the iPad over my head in bed for more than 1/2 hour? I'd rather have something I can use longer and carry with me more often.

So you decided to downgrade?

No, don't want a shorter version of the iPad 2. If I go with that size may look at Nook and Kindle.

I have an iPad 3 and I'm too spoiled by the Retina screen. I also like the size. My wife on the other hand is going to switch from her iPad 2 to the Mini. She mostly uses it for reading and wants the smaller iPad.

I gave it a brief thought until the price was announced. It's too pricey when compared to the full size version and quite honestly I'm still very happy with my iPad2. My next new shiny toy will be an iMac, that will be enough money spent for this quarter.

If you are holding Ipad over your head for reading books or magazine then you should just get yourself an ebook reader or cheap kindle fire especially for that. Then keep the Ipad. You wont realize it now but once you change from Big screen retina to smaller 7 inch tablet then you will know how uncomfortable it would be.

I have the same Ipad specs as OP. I really want to WANT the mini but the lack of retina display is really holding me back. and an apple geek told me they think the retina display will come out in 6 months so I'm def waiting.
