Ah! Well those SLKs are really small, half a roll will be enough to wrap the whole thing like a mummy.
oh interesting, good info. what about if they went with a dedicated gpu, can they do that with nvidia? would be nice to include that in the 13"
That's what I'm thinking, especially since NVIDIA's Optimus Tech is to be announced at that time.

Someone above posted that the Optimus NDA ended 6:30 PST. Maybe they bring the store up at exactly 6:30.
I have been without a mac for nearly a month...waiting for this update. My fiance's threatening to send me to rehab. She says I've got the shakes...lol
Im visiting macrumors every day for two years now, I dont have any plans to buy a mac any soon, (lack of money), but dont know why Im excited just like you guys (owners of apple products). Anyway, Spain store also closed for about 2 hours. Something big is coming, I smell it.

You´re right, I just speculated about the next full redesign which is still 1 or 2 years away in my opinion. I don´t think they change the resolution until then unfortunately. Talking about the next iteration, I don´t know how they can surpass the overall feel and look of the current mbp, they are still lightyears ahead of the competition in this regard.

when you buy an i core CPU from intel you get a package with the CPU, graphics and the chipset in the same packaging. you can add a discrete graphics adapter if you want.
From what I read Nvidia can't sell chipsets that work with i core CPU's because they don't have a license for the DMI patent. Apple can still sell discrete Nvidia graphics but not the integrated 9400M with the i Core CPU's.
my prediction is the entry/ low end will be the intel GPU which isn't as bad as once thought. the discrete is anyone's guess. HP has a nice laptop now with a discrete graphics card with 1GB of graphics RAM

No, it's definitely hardware. I'm thinking it will be like the last time when the iMacs were the main attraction, but there were also some side attractions like the Magic Mouse and a new aluminum Remote.
New MBPs and maybe new monitors? That 30" is probably the oldest product they have, it's thicker than all the iMacs... it needs a refresh bad.

As previously mentioned, Apple has expressed distaste in major product releases being tied to Macworld.
Bestbuy has been known to do this if they suspect updates or otherwise. Often they do this when there is no update.
For Aperture updates and maybe the iPad pre-orders.
Which are fake. Do some research.
I'd really like there to be an MBP update. All I'm saying is look at the history. In the past, we've almost always seen specs leak day-of or just before. In this instance, we have nothing other than very speculative evidence.
