OK guys it's official: new MBP is coming any minute now.
I know because I just bought my MBP last week on freaking ebay (no return for me I guess) and knowing my luck factor - it's happening today. So you guys enjoy your brand new toys, I'm stuck with my old piece of outdated technology for another couple of years :D

life is tough and I'm sad.

Comon guys.. we certainly would have heard more about this update if it were happening today. All we've got is a potentially forged Geekbench post and a Best Buy inventory change which has been known to happen outside of updates.

Nothing is happening today! I actually agree with one other poster here who suggests it will be an adjustment for iPad pre-orders. Guaranteed that's what it is.. just to enrage us all! :p

Yea common guys. Just cuz MacWorld expo is today, bestbuy deletes the pro from their inventory, apple shuts down their store today, and benchmarks of the new processor doesn't mean there's a new macbook pro... pshh:p:D

Called UK telesales in Ireland. Absolutely refused to confirm that any products were being updated and tried to sell me a current Macbook Pro!

I'm hoping that means she doesn't know anything...

U should have kept up with the rumors, although in all fairness my prediction was the 22 of Feb

I hope so! Resolution bump would be nice but I doubt it. I think they will change the aspect ratio (16:9 like the iMacs) and higher the dpi with the next case redesign.

naaahh man, Aperture or other software isn't reason to they put the stores off. Im pretty sure. Honestly, I don't remember a software update causing it, sure, I may be wrong, but... today become the day!!! hell yeah !!!!

P.S brazilian store is down as well

I don't think we'll see a redesign. It's far too soon for that.

In order to go 16:9 they'd have to shrink the trackpad. The current keyboard and trackpad can't be squeezed together to accomodate a 16:9 screen even on the 17", unless they make the whole machine considerably wider, which would make the 17" look really freaky considering it's already as wide as a lunch tray. I don't see 16:9 happening anytime soon.

If they took the store down to add a new version of Keynote and burn us on the MBPs, I live about 40 minutes from Cupertino and I'll be headed there with 50 rolls of toilet paper.

I doubt they would move from Nvidia at this point.

nvidia doesn't have a license to make chipsets compatible with Intel's i Core CPU's. reason apple went with nvidia is they had a single chipset/GPU product. Now that Intel has it for mobile as well there is no reason to use nvidia. and it saves apple money with a simpler supply chain

Go dude! 50 rolls should be enough to TP about 1% of the building.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they did switch to 16:9 since they already switched the iMacs. And you're right about those needed changes. I thought he meant a new case redesign going away from the aluminum look to a fully new design and not just a dimension change needed for 16:9. I think it's too soon to do a full design overhaul is all I meant.
