I've said this in another thread.
17 inch MacBook Pro
Intel Corei7 620 2.26
8 GB RAM
500 GB hard drive
Ati 5630 512 MB DDR3
with Final Cut Studio
PLEASE:apple:
I'm a broadcast major!

Gak! I hope Final Cut Studio 4 does not come out tomorrow.

I barely have enough for a new laptop.

This could be big news... looks like I'm in for the long haul with my early 2009 MBP and won't be joining the party :(

Spec predictions anyone?

I hope, baseline 2.66 Ghz. 500 GB, 750 GB, possibly 1TB HDD at 7200 RPM. 8GB RAM would be awesome. and of course, the Core i7 :)

Don't worry Student Loans + My Job and my Parents are helping me:)
and I hope your right i'd be ticked if FCS 4 comes out in April though I have a feeling it will:(

i Just hope they don't stick i3 or i5-430M into 13" that would be big turn down EVER !!!.

1TB hard drive would be nice, I'm still using my first gen MBP C2D, upgraded my hard drive 6 months ago to a 500 Gb and I'm already running out of hard drive space. Too many videos and photos of my little kid and I just hate having a hanging external hard drive that I have to carry around. Knowing apple, they will probably not include a 1TB for a while blaming it on power consumption or something else, mostly price and profit margin. I will keep my fingers crossed.

"Dear Managers of Best Buy #1761,

I have been a bad boy. At 3:53pm on Feb 8th, I took pictures of our computer system and posted them to the internet. Kindly check the surveillance tapes and fire me.

Thank you,

Would be nice to be able to buy something that I can chuck Windows 7 onto and play my Crysis in full details at a smooth 30fps or higher on......... HEAR ME APPLE??
Otherwise I may have to get an Alienware M11X...

Ok, so we know it has an i7, tons of memory, powerful GPU, and a good SD slot... But there is one thing we don't know... Will it blend?

Good news on the Intel/Nvidia Optimus front. Supposedly Intel is happy with the tech - it makes them look good (you don't see Intel GPUs showing poorly in 3D benchmarks because you use the Nvidia one), and Nvidia gets to sell more chips.

I'd bet $100 to see this tech in the MBPs. The NDA should lift tonight or tomorrow AM. I would expect tonight at 9PM ET (usually thats the time the NDAs lift for ATI and Nvidia, Intel usually has odd times like 6AM PT or something).

I don't think this update will be too interesting -- just processor updates. They will have to add a few other things...improved screen? better graphics? Blu Ray ? (I doubt it...)

Get ready for the unhappy people that the upgraded MBP's don't have what they want. Then they will threaten to buy a PC just to annoy the Mac forum.

Here are my predictions

*"i7q" refers to the quad core processor

i was just saying to myself that a Best Buy inventory screenshot would definitely heat up the rumors of imminent MBP updates. seems they always appear, even if they don't always mean anything.

as for specs, I'm only curious about the GPU solution. i'm still saving up for a new MBP, but updates would definitely increase the frequency with which I put money in my computer fund envelope!

I purchased an open box 17" MBP for $2099. Got it three weeks ago and have up to 45 days to return. i wouldn't mind spending the extra $400 to get a 17" MBP with an i7 Quad-Core Chip. That baby would fly!

they didn't say anything about the 17".

I would seriously be pissed at a 13" MBP with dedicated graphics, 4 GB ram and 1440x960 screen resolution. It would mean that I'd have to use up some savings I don't want to use.

All things blend. A Core i7 laptop blends better than a Core 2 Duo. Probably twice as good.

Yep, and twice as hot. I hope heat won't be too much of a problem with the i7 MBP's. The HP Envy can cook barbeque on it.
