It could also be possible that it could have the i5-750 or 750S, which are quad-core chips.

Although, knowing Apple, it'll only be the i5-520 or 540 in the 13.3 and low-end 15.

Apple can't use the i5-520 or 540 in the MBP. Those are desktop chips and are incredibly hot (82W). The chips currently in the 13" MBP run at 25W.

if this is true that new mbp are on the way... i will be ordering one ASAP with a few other goodies! Bring it on apple, my credit card is waiting to give you my moola!

He meant the i5-520M and i5-540M

Of course, knowing Apple, they'll find a way to make it just a i5-430M or lower

I'll be very (understatement) disappointed if the 13" models came only with the i3's. And for that matter, the G 310M...

I'll take a Core i7 myself thank you very much ;)

Something with the Pro moniker wont have i3. 2.4Ghz i5 is the base for the MBPs.

That said, the 310M has the same graphics horsepower as the current 9400M (16 "CUDA cores"). The supposed "Optimus" GPUs have 40 cores, so 2.5x the 9400M.

ill have to check this tomorrow morning when i get to work:eek:

and FYI, if your part of best buy "premier silver" program you have 45 days to return anything, with no restocking fee, but you have to spend quite a bit to get there

im sorry, was that sarcasm? I'm not really seeing the deals..

Nope, mostly wishful thinking. Actually though, around an hour ago there was a 13 inch 2.26GHz macbook PRO for $849 and a 15 incher for $1149 that are now gone. There still are quite a bit more refurbs than I've seen lately... I could be imagining things, or...

Not iPhones in the US of A where Ma Bell err I mean ATT still has not released it officially.

I know, but that's your fault for having a crippled phone. :D

The last thing we need is 3G thrown in when we're already paying for a data plan. Heck, most carriers include 3G USB sticks free of charge anyway. They can throw it in as an option, so I can choose not to get it.

Yes I understand the MBP is not likely to get an i3. The MB is most likely to get an i3-330M or i5-330M

And has it ever been stated the i5-520M 2.4GHz is the base for the MBP? The i5-430M at 2.26GHz is the lowest end i5 mobility

And where does Optimus say it has a 40 SP's? No Nvidia mobility GPU atm has 40SP's. You have 16 SP's with the G310M then the GT325M and 330M have 48SP's. I haven't kept up to attention on it's specs, and don't recall when they ever revealed the tech specs

Jobs will have Best Buy fire any employee at Park City UT that started work at 4.30 today

I'm prob. just missing it, but where did you get 4.30? The only time reference I see says 3:53 PM?

An even bigger iPod Touch... with a lid?

LOL! :)

"Dear Managers of Best Buy #1761,

I have been a bad boy. At 3:53pm on Feb 8th, I took pictures of our computer system and posted them to the internet. Kindly check the surveillance tapes and fire me.

Exactly... I mean, thanks for the screenshot and all but what a risk to your employment at B^2... and for a relatively weak circumstantial rumor... and you gave total traceability back to yourself, man! You've even got me squirming over this one! Good luck!

You're not imagining things. I just saw the $849 13" MBP also.

i'm not normally like this but ..

OMG PLEAZE UPDATE TEH 13" MBP !!!

yuck. that felt weird.

anyway, my 12" PB 1.33 GHz is nearly 6 years old. It's been a trusty workhorse but battery #2 is shot, it's running on 10.4, and I'm ready to buy the next 13" MBP. Mmm, delicious unibody.

although, there's nothing really wrong with the 12" PB. it still works fine. I'd like to see a 6 year old Dell say the same.

I have a 6 year old Toshiba with windows 98 and it works great. It even takes daily beating from my 2 year old playing all sort of computer games for babies not available to Macies.

yeah I love this. My GF bought a white MB and 39 days later the white MB refresh was released. Did a simple return and bought a couple days later when they got stock in lol. No restocking fee, no hassle.

It's $2500 within a year to reach premier silver member. A TV and computer got me there (thanks to financing though hehe)

that's cool!

but i was poking at Dell, not PC/windows in general. I think Toshiba, Sony, and certain IBMs are good machines. Dell, however, had some pretty bad years in terms of quality and reliability. They got by on name alone.

Agreed. The only good Windows machine is Tosh's and IBM's. Everything else build quality wise is terrible. Dell has been known for many mobo issues, many I have worked on. HP and Compaq's are a hit or a miss imo.

Those refurbs/clearance 13"-ers were not in the Apple Store yesterday.. I went looking and they had none.. I know their stock changes frequently anyway so it may not mean anything, but who knows...

Im hoping for a decently powered 13" to come out SOON, I wanna go smaller than my 15" Early '08 model!

and PLEASE have the matte option on 13's!:D

The one on there now seems to be just a MB, but I believe I saw a 13" MBP for $849. I just haven't seen prices like that before on outside of ebay. Somebody got lucky on that, well kind of... except every body and their baby mama's gonna being selling the old one's when the sweet arrandale freshness arrives.

Ignore my previous post. I didn't realize it was the MB. The similar 13" 2.26 MBP is $999.
