At this point, they mide as well wait till WWDC, do all the pro machines at once. It's only a few months away now. I was hoping to replace my core duo macbook some time soon.

620 m 17 inch shouldent cost over 2400 dollars..... does anyone else think this ? i mean maybe 1950$.... with taxes. dont get me wrong they are great processeur ( i have one ) but they are relitively affordable right now .

Time to rethink Windows

I hate to say it but waiting is making me take a hard look at Windows 7. Lets face it it is a good OS and the media center apps built in are good. I have been a MAc for 5 years now but am not happy with the direction apple has been heading.
Lets face it Apples QC has gone way down hill. Look at the issues they are having with iMac 27" and Mac Pro. The recent track record tells me even if I could wait until the new Macbook Pro comes out it will have issues. I used to pay higher prices for Apple because I knew they were built to last. I am not sure that is the case so how do I justify double the cost over a windows 7 Pc with the same or better specs? Don't get me started on BluRay.

Thanks
Hate to feel this way.

The update is coming!!!! I placed an order for a MacBook Pro through my place of employment on Feb. 15th, the Apple order status page originally said delivers by Feb. 22nd which was yesterday, I checked this morning and now the status page says ships by Feb. 26th..

My resolve for waiting on a new macbook pro is quickly dwindling. I might just put the money I saved for it into my house instead. My old laptop can chug away a little longer hehe.

That doesn't mean anything. Supplier might have slipped. That happened to my original Macbook Air order. I doubt there will be new Macbook Pros until July.

Not a chance... That would mean this cycle took about 400 days...

If they take that long we might as well give up on Apple all together.

Release the ****ing computer, so I can buy it :) I'm going to buy my first Mac ever, but it`s ridiculous to buy the MacBook pro from June 2009 now....old technology...and I`m really tired of waiting..

Checking BB availability for the 2 15" mbp's they list, in the lower Fairfield County (CT) and NY area for in store pickup, all but one store says "unavailable".

We can only hope ....

Mike

So you think they update today?

I don't know about today. But July is out of the question. If they waited till mid July then this cycle would be nearly double an average cycle.

And by June they would be selling a laptop that is over a year old. A July refresh doesn't make any sense.

I see good things on the BBY website as well.

17" are all sold out in the Baltimore MD area.

You might but most people won't. For extra points guess how much Apple Inc. give a crap about the likes of you? You are but cannon fodder in their cash machine. Heck, since IPhone sales overtook Macbook sales last quarter they could probably wait until the next winter olympics to update and they'd still be swimming in cash.

What I'm saying is, if Apple takes that long to do an update then something is going SERIOUSLY wrong at Apple. You can't sell a year old computer and expect to compete.

Apple has been in a pattern of doing an update about every 7 months. So to jump to 13 months like you're suggesting just doesn't make sense.

I don't really understand the people saying they expect no update until June/July. What is the basis for claims like these?
