wow I hope its tomorrow...I feel like I'll be let down again though. What time does Apple usually take the site down for an update? Midnight? Or later during the day?

I wonder what would cause more deaths:
-people dying from disappointment if the new mbp's arent released tomorrow
-people dying from shock if they are....

I have some inside information that will make us all happy!

I have a sister cousin that married a guy from California that has a brother that once new a guy that worked for Apple. Anyways he said that the new MBP's will come out tomorrow and to calm you all down he also said that there will be Blu-Ray, HDMI, USB 3.0 and anti-glare screens on all size MBP's. I am confident that this information I was provided is accurate because there is no way that my sisters cousin that married a guy from California that has a brother that once new a guy that worked for Apple would lie to me! :D

For those who still have not figured out that I am having a little fun......I am just having a little fun. I wanted to be the first person to claim to have insider information that they will be refreshed tomorrow.

Brace yourself boys and girls we have another letdown coming tomorrow. Although I hope I am wrong.

Nothing is going to happen, tomorrow. I believe there won't be any new updates till May/June. Apple doesn't see a need to go for the processor updates now

I have to say I'll be surprised if there's no MBP / MBA updates tomorrow, for no reason in particular other than it's 'time' now to keep up with other manufacturers ...

.... and it's time to give in on spec's (such as HDMI), and realize some things are now a standard...

Is Apple the kind of company I wonder to hold back on MBP / MBA updates among other things to put all their focus and promotion into the new iPad device?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Apple did nothing to the MBP and MBA's until all the excitement from the introduction and iPad launch calmed down .... that could fast forward us to May/June ... yes, that would suck, lol.

Mistake or not for Apple's bottom line, certainly is for us who would like to see all the notebooks updated ... maybe this iPad will be launched with some unknown features and magic that will make all our notebooks obsolete, LOL - :D

Who knows what they're up to .... Apple and S. Job's don't often do what we expect or think they should do ...

I'm on the other side of the iPad thing--they'd be insane NOT to intro their new stuff before the release, because once the iPad is out there they'll have lost a huge captive audience.

macbooks tomorrow - definite

Hi everyone, I've been reading macrumors for about 8 years now and have never posted...but I felt compelled to post here because of the massive amounts of rampant speculation over the past weeks.

Apple's pattern for releasing MacBook Pros is crystal clear: Since mid/late 2006, new MBPs

1. Have been released on Tuesdays (with one exception: Monday 6/8/2009)
2. Have been released on an October/June/February Schedule (10/2006, 6/2007, 2/2008, 10/2008, 6/2009)

The last February release was February 26, 2008, which followed a June 5 release.

For the current Oct/Jun/Feb cycle, the last release was June 8th, which, given the previous cycle's timeline, pushes the impending 'February' release date a few days later: e.g. March 1/2. Since the release is likely to be a Tuesday, all signs point to tomorrow. Do not despair, updates tomorrow. I guarantee it ;)

What makes you say this?

The current macbooks are very good, even when the new set of processors were released, it doesn't make those C2Ds obsolete. No solid news on HDMI or USB3.0 and I personally feel nothing concrete came out of nvidia Intel dispute. Apple might notwant to sacrificie 9400 for those i3/i5s but adding a discrete GPU might increase the production cost and subsequently either increase in market price or decrease in margin. Again, as I said these C2Ds are still doing good and there might not be any reason for pushing it this March rather than waiting for 3 more months till Apple gets what they want (may be even waiting for Optimus).

I for one would be super happy if a new onw comes tomorrow but just don't want to get disappointed

I highly doubt new mbps will come tomorrow, but if they do and are good enough I might spring for an upgrade. It would be a tough decision though: new mbp or used Lexus SC400.

I surely hope you're right, but something tells me it won't happen. and then the next time there's speculation about a refresh, you'll be posting the same thing except #2 will say "(with one exception: June 2010)"

What if your wrong? What do we get....haha?

According to this Australian Apple educational promotion students can get an iPod touch for free when they buy a MacBook Pro before ... drumroll: March 29. Doesn't that awfully smell like a March 30 release date?

No offense, but I doubt Australia represents a large enough market for Apple to worry about that loss of revenue. Even the UK doesn't: I remember a friend of mine jumped the gun with 3 weeks to go on the back to school some years ago, thinking the same thing, and was annoyed to see that they released the new PB with 2 weeks to go on the promotion.

yes but on japans website its may 25th

When one of a/the student and teaching staffs buy Mac and iPod together by May 25, 2010

"When one of a/the student and teaching staffs buy Mac and iPod together by May 25, 2010 " (translated)

smells like a may 25th release

.

I for one am waiting for this magic to happen. Even if it is June! At least my core2quad windows 7 is keeping me occupied but the one thing this machine cant do is Logic Pro.

Magic is the new funnest.

Its 11.55am here in the UK and still nothing. All those in California need to get out of bed early today! I need a new Macbook Pro but I don't want to make the mistake of buying when a new one is due to be released. My current Advent laptop is dying on me as a type this!

According to other users, Apple changes thier website between 4am and 9am PST, at the moment its just gone 4am PST. so give it 5 hours before you start commenting on the lack of new products, however, i dont think anything will be releasd untill the next june keynote, with the release of the new iPhone,

I am prepared to eat my words if something is released though

:apple:Mike
