New Mac Book Pros announced at WWDC.

unfortunately mayb u r right
just read that macs is selling 15% more than last year in the first 2 months
if that is true, why would they want to put a new mbp on the market?
just for few geeks that want to have the latest technology?
dont think so
damn that sucks

I REALLY hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it happening tomorrow. I don't think they would take down the store with the run rate they are taking iPad pre-orders.

lol. It takes 2 seconds to update the store, anything could happen tbh. But the MBP's will over-shadow the iPad.

lol it is few weeks you same the same...
you should go to the doctor, mayb u got something

I've already been to the quacks - they're useless the lot of 'em;).

This is my last attempt. If it doesn't happen tomorrow, I'll just wait until I hear the news and give up reading this site!

Cheers,

jahman

That rate dropped off within a few hours of pre-orders opening. A couple hours of Apple store down time in the morning won't kill the iPad.

my first post

Hey guys, I'm going into college in June, and I'm anxiously awaiting the new MBPs

Ive been watching this thread as a guest for a while, and never considered joining...until this Saturday...

on Saturday i wondered over to best buy and then to the mac section of the store to play with the macs, as i always do. but i was astonished when i saw this sitting on the table:

And it was the same for ALL the mbps!!! (if u look, they are selling that one on display too) Hence they are getting rid of the old ones, to get ready for the new models.

i was like, "i gotta let macrumors know!". so i took the pic (the apple associate gave me a look when i did) and put it here

Does anyone know if best buy does this a lot? or am i just tense and desperate for a reason to be excited?

EDIT: oops, am i allowed to post pics? D:

After a couple of weeks of following these threads i've decided to register. I'm hoping for a release tomorrow or the 23rd. But, I'm feeling 50-50 about it. All the hype seems to be around the iPad and april 3rd is around the corner.

I bought a MBpro in june 08 and the logic board failed. I had apple care but it isnt covering due to some (very minor) denting around the cd slot corner, and I'm not about to dish out 1200 in labor+parts. So, not very happy about how apple handled that...

Anyway, anyone know how I can make some money out of the one I have now?, all the parts are in working condition 'cept the logic board which makes the computer shut down every 5-10 minutes.

:apple:

Push harder, and ask to speak to a supervisor.

If you hold your ground and point out that the minor cosmetic damage
occurred long before the problem, you may get someone who'll take
care of it.

I wish... the first person who attended me was not helpful at all. He said there didnt even have to be a connection between the physical damage and what was failing with my comp. Anything more serious than a scratch (in my case a small dent) voids apple care. I went again, and a more knowledgeble tech explained to me that in older models that are not unibody, it is likely that a hit can work its way and crack the layers of the logic board even a long time after the incident happened. I'm still a little iffy that there isn't proof but im just trying to find a way to make money off the rest of the machine.

I don't understand why is this a big deal. It looks like the regular price. Not much of a "sale" but then this is Best Buy we are talking about.

LOL, "on sale" reminds me of Circuit City going out of business and marking up their prices 200% before "clearance pricing" at 10% off ;)

I'm guessing Bbuy's "on sale" price is % off a marked up list? ;)

I just hope that this DOES mean an imminent update, i mean i dont care if its no cheaper, i just want new MBPs!!!!!

Those signs don't mean anything, it's just an error on the merch team's behalf. That happens all the time at my Best Buy (I work there), and I constantly have to correct them. They have two kinds of red markers - On Sale, and As Advertised. Usually if they run out of one kind (not in the store, just in their hands), then they will just use the other rather than go grab some more. As you can see, that computer is in the ad (note the yellow price tag with "As Advertised"). I would assume it's just a mistake. Also, there's no such markings on the Apples at my store, and I would know - I'm the "Apple Expert" (i.e., they decided I should be the one in the computer dept to make sure that we sell plenty of Apples).

I would still try again if I were you. The logic board failed in my MBP 15" (pre uni-body version) last year and the genius bar tech noted aloud that the case had minor damage that could have caused the problem (the case is actually bent slightly in the middle from years of normal use), but they replaced it regardless.

From what I've seen if the damage is truly cosmetic they don't mind, but if it could in any way make the repair difficult (damage around the cd slot especially can be troublesome for a tech) they are more cautious.

So how long before we can give up on 3/16?

Just lost my hope right now... And I am getting more and more worried that these "we'll see the mbp updates in june"-statments could actually be true

And just for the protocol: "Why the hell is apple still showing this little picture about the 'new mbp familiy' on the first page of the german webpage!? This is so RIDICULOUS!!!"
