The analyses are piling up:

A lot of the tech/gaming media don't even mention the train wreck that is CDPR's share price. Since the $31.25 price on December 4th to today's close, it has lost 41% of its value.

Two weeks. Billions of market capitalization gone. Poof.

This may be the patch that was scheduled for December 21 (Monday) per GameStop. It is highly irregular to release a substantial patch for a videogame on a Friday.

Note that this is for the consoles; the PC version will "follow soon" -- which probably means December 21 as scheduled.

This is likely desperation damage control from CDPR after today's meltdown.

Edit: Tom's Hardware is saying that holiday time off has been reduced. It sounds like the CDPR developers are still on crunch time.

It's like the Polish Christmas Bataan Death March. This will win CDPR management a lot of fans from their employees.

The sad thing is that there are likely many CDPR developers who have spent 5+ years of their young lives pulling the galley oars only to see most of their value be flushed down the toilet in the span of a couple of weeks due to management ineptitude.

Let's not forget that CP2077 has been in development for a LONG time (eight years?) and has been delayed numerous times (totaling years in fact).

PS4/Xbox One support wasn't an afterthought. Those were "next gen console architecture" when CDPR started this project. CDPR knew that those two would have the largest userbase five years after release.

CDPR knew that CP2077 wasn't release quality on PS4/Xbox One. Until they got their PS5/Xbox Series X/S dev kits, they were testing on PS4 & Xbox One production hardware. They knew damned well how the game performed.

Same with the PC graphics hardware. The day the GeForce 20 series launched, CDPR knew that the existing userbase of GeForce 10 series cards was far larger. Same with Radeon RX 500 series versus the previous gen RX 400 series.
It was announced before the Xbox One and PS4 were even out. YES when PS3 and Xbox 360 was current gen the game was announced!

This really won't make the game less buggy. Crunch time leads to bugs. We are human. Lack of balanced life, turning off our brains, sleeping and more is what helps us create good content. Being in crunch time, working overtime, and more leads to mistakes. In software development, it leads to bugs. I really wish companies would understand this. I have worked 12 hour shifts before, and I start making stupid mistakes.

As I predicted, CD Projekt Red is getting spanked by the market.

Their US ADR is currently down 13.5% today meaning they probably shed US$1.1 billion in market capitalization in less than four trading hours.

That's what happens when you mislead investors.

They have failed their primary responsibility as a publicly held company: to increase shareholder value.
This seems more of a problem with companies in general. It is far too often these days that games come out a buggy mess. Not to the level of this game, but you see it time and time again. Companies need to stop with the immediate "WE NEED MONEY NOW!" thinking. Okay, so you got your sales, but the company can go under or become just a small percentage of what it was a year from now. How is that better?

They should have delayed the game again. I don't think CDPR will go away, but this definitely hurt them a GREAT deal. YAY for bean counters at the top "WANT MONEY NOW!" attitude huh? And I find it absolutely ridiculous that CDPR didn't let any reviewers of the PS4 and Xbox One use gameplay footage, they had to use canned footage. So CDPR knew about this during release.

Your’e incorrect in the same respect, while making some valid points. There’s plenty of developers that don’t release games that are ‘buggy messes’. Did that happen with Naughty Dog with TLOUS2? Nope. Did it happen with RDR2 from Rockstar? Nope. Those games were both in production for over seven years and they didn’t have these kind of issues at launch. It wasn’t necessarily that this was a ‘rushed product’, it was a product that wasn’t thoroughly tested and completely transparent to the gamer.

Do you know what CDPR was asked at every E3 conference for the last three years? [I’m gonna tell you anyway], they were asked “When do you have a release date for this game”, and you know what they said? “It will ready when it’s ready”. So what does that tell you? They must’ve been under the notion that they thought this product was ready, because they’re not the type of company that would release this game on a whim, when in all reality, Everyone knows CDPR probably has the best intentions when they release a game, even if it didn’t flourish the way they had hoped. Nonetheless, I don’t think this company is all but ‘we need money now’, not when they had over three delays, and this project was in production for 10 years.

I mean, they had 8 million pre-orders, this game was still slated to be a massive title no matter when it was released, regardless of the glitches/bugs/crashes.

The CEO mentioned that they wish that they approached production differently by creating and MVP and completing the game in a modular way.

Instead, the game was developed in a way in which they were counting everything coming together nicely at the end.

Basically like working on a dissertation for 8 months but leaving referencing, structure and proof reading until 3 days before submission.

There might have also been a degree of moving goal posts with new features and gameplay continuously added to the roadmap.

It’s interesting to read some of the comments about CDPR, and how many gamers actually didn’t know that they developed the Witcher 3 and then when you hear about Cyberpunks faults, you wonder what went wrong and how. I know there’s so many politics involved with this game, and I really do think it’s a great game, and it looks amazing. And I know I’m repeating myself when I say this, but I really do think this is a lot like No mans sky, just a broken game from the beginning, marketing features that never existed and then will completely grow to a new spectrum I’d say by six months from now. I think this company can make up a lot of ground quickly with the right patches, demoing new features, re-bolstering support for the older consoles the best they can, and being completely transparent with the gaming community, so they understand and gain some trust that was lost. It’s all ‘damage control’ from this point forward.

Yeah the CEO did say a December patch was inbound then later jan and/or feb a larger bug fix to address the major issues on the console would be rolled out. Seems like a lot of little things that were resolved

With 8 years in development (we have no idea how long the programmers were coding), its probably safe to assume there were a numerous times those goalposts were moved. I don't think this is the same, but Anthem comes to mind where it was in "development" for years and years only to find out that the actual game play coding was done in the last few months prior to release.

One lesson I need to relearn is to look both ways when I cross the street - I can' t tell you how many times I've been hit by a car

This is one of the reasons why I find the traffic and npc density on Series X to be just right.

More cars = more congestion and like likelihood of getting run over.

More NPC = more witnesses to report your drawn weapon of crimes to the police.

I’m so used to games where you don’t have to think about that at all when you cross the street. I keep getting knocked down also!

TLOU2 and RDR2 are two games out of dozens and dozens that have released recently. All of the EA games, Blizzard, Mass Effect Andromeda. Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I have experienced so many bugs with latest games its ridiculous.

CDPR certainly did rush this game and they KNEW it was a problem - they told reviewers not to use gameplay footage on PS4 or Xbox One. So they KNEW about the issues.

And the fact that developers have came forward stating they spoke to management that the game is not ready should tell you that the game IS NOT READY. Yet they released it anyway. And look what happened. Why are you making excuses for them? Games, developers, stock, leadership all state/show this was not ready. They had an emergency call to discuss the state of the game. What does that tell you?

I’ve been doing side quests like crazy and just spent almost every Eddie I had on the crazy jump. This changes everything!

The Only gripe I have is with NCPD (Including the drones), they can be overly oppressive if you commit a crime or if you’re involved in a mission, it’s literally impossible to get away from them, let alone be involved in a gun fight. Minor nitpick, slightly takes away from the experience when I think the A.I difficulty can be tuned down a bit.

Sticky grenades and powerful weapons makes it easier to kill criminals quickly before NCPD has time to arrive.

This video makes me extremely excited for the next gen version of the game.

Just to be clear, the next gen version won't be a patch but an entirely separate game. Think less "Enhanced back compat for next gen" and more "Native next gen version" built from the ground up.

The next gen version of Witcher 3 has been outsourced to Saber interactive while the the next gen version of 2077 is being developed in house.

3rd party studios only got their hands on retail version of the consoles last month. Therefore it will take a few months of development and liaising with MS on how to take advanced of DirectML(DLSS) and maximising resources by only rendering what's in view

Tom's Hardware is reporting that this game save bug affects PC and Google Stadia versions of the game:

Console players aren't affected which is why the bug acknowledgement was done via the GOG Twitter account, not the main Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account.
Actually I saw a post that it affects all platforms.

Super jump looks sick. Can't wait to buy the ability and move vertically. It's crazy expensive though.

Spoiler free video:

Ok, so since I acquired the jump already I went ahead and watched this video. What it doesn't mention is that there is a better jump, the epic version (the ones he lists are rare). I don't like posting spoilers but this is important.

Make sure that you do NOT slap the creepy ripperdoc called Fingers when you encounter him in a mission. If you do apparently he won't sell you the epic jump later.

Thanks the spoiler. All I want to do is to save up money to buy awesome jumps. I am happy with the motorcycle and am, not bothered about buying cars.

However, I am wondering whether not buying cars will prevent certain rewards or missions from being unlocked.

Is the power jump awesome?
