Although I am enjoying Cyberpunk I have to say that it feel more like a shooter than a RPG game.

Character customisation is completely disconnected from the game and the clothes are a mess.

90% of time, my character looks like a clown because the default is to wear the pieces of clothing that have the highest armour - see my character below.
Seriously... I would post more pics if my V he didn't look so silly in his clothes... haha... I am enjoying my epic fortified ankles. I don't bother walking across the street and getting hit by cars... I just jump over the whole street. LOL...

I'm also enjoying my quickhacks too... I don't have to ask my kid to come to help me through a gun fight anymore. haha

Oh LORD I had those same pants!

I think CDPR erred in trying to make this game for next gen consoles, ray tracing AND legacy consoles.
It was intended for legacy consoles (PS4 & Xbox One). That's the largest installed user base.

Postponement after postponement eventually pushed the game release until after the next gen consoles released (late 2020) but clearly CDPR fumbled the ball. CDPR had the entire lifespan of PS4 and Xbox One production units to test their game, not some weird little devkit.

The legacy consoles will dominate the console user base for years.

It is bizarre that some people become CDPR apologists for a game that should have run well on legacy consoles from launch.

You think Sony would release Tsushima that ran like garbage on PS4? That's why they pulled CP2077 from their store.

There is nothing wrong in releasing different versions of a game to match the hardware capabilities of different platforms. The problem with CP2077 is that the PS4/Xbox One versions basically didn't run on their intended platforms.

They will someday once CDPR cleans up their mess but the game wasn't ready for primetime.

I don't know... but I think that's what his point was. I think CDPR made a deal with the dark side (Nvidia)... probably gave some perks (lol) to push ray tracing. I just found out they made a special edition CP2077 RTX 2080ti pushing ray tracing and it barely does 30 fps on high settings. Still looks great at medium settings... but I get what you're saying and agree... and I think I understand @maflynn point also and agree.

The special edition CP2077 2080 Ti GPU doesn't perform any better than the non-branded card. And the 3070 provides slightly better performance at a much lower cost (well when the 3070 was actually available on the market).

Remember that the two class-action lawsuits are specific to CDPR's treatment of legacy videogame consoles. The fact that CP2077 looks way better on Nvidia Turing and Ampere hardware has little to do with CDPR's failure to deliver on PS4 and Xbox One platforms.

The "CP2077 card" [sic] is just a marketing gimmick. They could emblazon it with Hello Kitty graphics and it would perform the same.

CDPR created a bloated, unoptimized hot mess and willingly deceited the world about the game's performance on legacy console hardware. PC gaming hardware is more customizable so it's easier to ratchet down game settings to attain tolerable game performance.

I agree... and that was my point. CDPR couldn't even get right with the 2080ti that was marketed for CP2077. I feel bad for those that purchased this card for that price for the performance they are getting. It should have been optimized for the legacy consoles, and updated for next gen and PC's... They messed up, and paying for it. It's a bad year for buying GPU's and new tech... I hate scalpers... and would never buy a card over msrp. My youngest son was able to snag a RTX 3070 at Micro Center a week after release... I was fortunate to get my RTX at MC a couple days later. I'm still trying to get a PS5 for my other son. 2020 is almost over... hope 2021 gets better for Next Gen consoles, GPU's, and CDPR.

The investors/board relations was pushing for Cyberpunk to be released. The pressure was on for the last nine months when they had two delays within that timeframe to have this game released, and they were taking some serious heat for ‘polishing.’

It’s Been reported multiple times, there were bridge coders/developers coming forward and saying the game wasn’t ready, but yet... they still said ‘release it. So in hindsight, I think CDPR is a very reputable developer, but they have some powers that are higher up that put this company in a very weak position where the founders lost $1 billion over this debacle.

It still doesn’t change that the on-site demos that we watched over the last year were clearly not emphasized on the base consoles, but, the question kept getting posed towards CDPR, ‘Will C.P. be ready for next GEN consoles?” And that’s one of the reasons I think it had so many delays, they wanted to release the game around the timeframe of to sync with the launch of the PS5/Series 5, which didn’t make a difference at all.

I recommend buying a sniper. With it and height advantage + cover, you can take out enemies from far without the stress of close combats with guns or rifles.

I am a Katana guy but picked up a sniper yesterday. Its been game changing. I took out three netrunners in 2 and was rewarded 15,000 eddys

The weapon is a great compliment where taking out 6-12 enemies with quickhacks or a katana isn't possible.

Oh I know, but delaying and being in development (in one form and another) for 8 years meant that probably should have pulled back and accessed where the project is, where its headed and what is the means for the best success.

This game probably suffered from feature creep, when they were working on this for the Ps4/xbone they certainly were not thinking of adding all of that ray tracing. Even now, only the RTX 3080 (a new top of the line GPU) is capable of handling all of the imagery put into the game with decent frame rates.

There is a lesson for each party to learn from this:

Studios: Don't release games that have not been finished or thoroughly debug.

Xbox/Sony: Don't release games or allow aggressive pre-order advertising unless you have internally certified that the games perform as expected.

Gamers: Don't FOMO into every pre-order. Wait 48-72h after release for unbiased review and gameplay analysis.

Simples. :)

Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Anthem, just to name a few, and get we have CDPR releasing a game that was horrifically poor on legacy consoles. I have no idea what the developer hoped for, especially given how Fallout 76 and Anthem fared and how Anthem is for intents and purposes dead.

The more I think about this, the more I'm really bothered by Sony pulling the game. There are games that were (are?) worse then CP77, it seems more personal to have them yank this game like they did. I think for them it was an over reaction. I agree that both companies need to actually vet and certify the game, its clear they did zero due diligence on the game in the first place.

Yup, and I'm guilty of falling into the pre-order trap, again. Maybe I'll eventually learn my lesson but I doubt it

Yes. There are examples of other games that launched with lots of bugs. However CP2077 is the straw they brok the camels back.

More blame should be targeted yards MS and Sony. For digital sales, they are the retailers and ultimately the agreement with you is with them and not the game studio.

They need to tighten their guidelines for how games are advertised pre-release and what levels of bugs are acceptable.

We don't want there to a precedent for "Buy our game before you have seen it, we will fix it later".

I get it... the blame, what CDPR could/should have done, what we shouldn't do... etc... It's too bad this is a topic... but people are still enjoying the game at the moment... I'm not done with the game... so I don't know if I'll like it in the end. If I don't like it... I usually keep it to myself because I know there are those that will like it... and I don't want to take that experience away. Okay... I'm done!!! Hope things looks brighter in 2021... hahaha... I'll try to be more like @MisterSavage and stick to topic for those having fun in the game. LOL j/k... I do appreciate all the comments in this thread... good and bad. :)

@Macalicious2011 Thanks for the sniper gun tip!!!

No matter how stupid V looks in his current armor... I had try to screen capture a motorcycle jump... :)

Currently doing sides outside the city... FYI for PC payers... I turned on film grain for clouds, and it appears I gained fps (+- 80) after hotfix 1.0.6. Could be the environment I'm playing in too...

I was so confused about how to use a legendary Arasaka mod I had in my inventory. This guy had a similar question and made a video about it.

I'm still looking for one with a silencer!

I had someone in another thread tell me I wouldn't enjoy the game after I had put some time in. I replied that I've got 55+ hours and they said I wouldn't enjoy it when I saw the repetition. I'm enjoying the game period.

***** hell. I infiltrated the same fort last night to clamp down on suspected organised crime. Took me an hour!

Gotta love how the guy is rock and rolling with 30-40% time slow when detected by an enemy.

He approached and defeated a turret as if it was a skinny birch tree.

I have a silencer attchement for my sniper but don't use it because it reduce damage by 30% if not you don't shoot in stealth.

I am now a few days away eith enough money to buy fortified ankles. It will be a game change and allow me to explore new areas of night city.

LOL... I use the turrets with quick hacks to shoot enemies... but the rate of fire is really slow. Enemy ends up taking it out for me.

Everything changes when you get them. I've also found some "secret" areas with loot from jumping around where you normally couldn't get.

I just had an enemy come up and look at the turret all confused when I took it over. lol

Never had a car spawn on me... hahaha

I couldn't drive out from under it.... but was able to get off my bike. Good thing they have photo mode so I could capture this moment... LOL

Nice reflection details in the car window...

I gotta say, I think my favorite part of the game is definitely how intricate the cars are. Every detail looks amazing, the damage, sounds and the light the way the reflection bounces off, it almost looks like you could physically touch it yourself through your TV. The only thing I don’t like about the cars, is the driving aspect is still a bit wonky, it’s not nearly as refined/fluid as GTA, (Yes, I hate to use that comparison), but that’s the best I got.

60+ hours, and I would say I still haven’t even completed 30% of the game, that’s primarily the focus because I spend too much time leveling my character, and side quests. What I don’t want to do, is invest too much time on side Quests and start to burn out, and then I pick up another game. So it’s probably better if I start focusing on the main core tasks.

Really though, an experienced and devoted gamer, can easily see the work in the detail of 10 years of investment into this game, it really is a unique piece, even though it’s still not on par with what I was expecting, even with all the mishaps and technicality issues.

Agree 100%. The inside of the cars amaze me. It must have added so much time/work to make the interiors so detailed. It's tragic to me because first person driving is unplayable for me. I fishtail all over the place and run over pedestrians.

I'm really early into the main story because I've been doing so many side quests. I'm a netrunner and the main story I did last night just dropped a rare version of a netrunner hack I already have a legendary version of. I had a "Oh, I guess I should have done this story mission a long time ago" moment. :D

Just bought double jump after two hours of grinding for cash today.

I have just used the double jump for 3 min, but already I have explored areas i previously wouldn't have been able to.

The game now feels like GTA and Miles Morales all in one!

My next hustle will be more more hacks so that I can to side quests or police jobs with High/Very High Danger levels.

I actually love the main story missions and would enjoy doing them all in one go. However I am pacing myself.

Some missions are actually most enjoyable if you have built up your character and and have more weapons, cyberware and quick hacks to choose from.
