You do realize that 3D models of automobiles are readily available and have been since the beginning of 3D computer graphics?Agree 100%. The inside of the cars amaze me. It must have added so much time/work to make the interiors so detailed. It's tragic to me because first person driving is unplayable for me. I fishtail all over the place and run over pedestrians.
Dropping in a detailed car model into CP2077 was kiddie play. The fact that the driving physics is wonky is inexcusable.
Driving physics in 3D games isn't new. Simulators have been around for half a century (they debuted in commercial usage). Hell, just watching CP2077 streams the driving in Super Mario Kart 64 is less buggy than CP2077.
There are tens of thousands of driving sim games and CDPR can't even get the basics down? This is a good example of some of the disconnect that some technologists suffer from and in this case CDPR apologists.
Heck, there probably three dozen companies in my city conducting autonomous vehicle test driving (not just big bad Waymo) ON REAL STREETS WITH REAL CARS.
The fact that CDPR can't even simulate basic automobile navigation in CP2077 is just another example of how unfinished this game is. And we're not talking about off-road rally racing or F1 physics.
Do you think Rockstar Games would put out a Grand Theft Auto title with such pathetic driving performance?
