Let me tell you, I’ve been following CDPR 2077 when the graphic art originated back in 2010, that was even before core development even started for 2012, so what does that tell you how long of a fan I’ve been? And being probably one of the most experienced gamers in this forum, that by far was the worst launch I’ve ever witnessed on any video game ever. And it’s not even so much about the technical issues, even the gameplay mechanics were still sloppy in some areas with the driving, animation controls were wonky, cloud rendering was shoddy, the sound effects were decently realistic with Guns, but still off with certain gameplay elements. Sure, is the customization really unique to the vehicles, player character models, but what does that matter if the gameplay mechanics are broken.
To be clear, I played Cyberpunk extensively, and I enjoyed it primarily for what it was, but I sold it over a month ago, because I had no interest in any more of the side missions and ‘long term promises’ made by the company timeline.
Let me put it this way, I don’t really consider CDPR to be one of the top developers, I think they don’t have enough titles really to be considered a ‘top developer’, but I think they’re a notable developer in a sense of the work that they put into their projects extensively, and what did the gamer receive in 2020 with CDPR 2077? A broken, dismantled game, followed by deception and a hacked release.
Trust me when I tell you this, I’m not mad at all, I’m just extremely disappointed as one of the most biggest fans of this game over the last decade and this is what we were given? Gamers now are expecting a higher quality piece of where we stand in the gaming industry, and the fact that they couldn’t even be more honest is a very telling sign. Forget about the fact that was broken when it released, it’s the fact that they can’t be trusted.
Oh, just looking at used prices right now, you can find a copy of Cyberpunk for less than $20. So what does that tell everybody in here? I don’t think anything else needs to be said.
