This game is just not fun to play,no matter how many times I give it another chance.
I Just installed 2.1 patch with RTX3080 PC.
I guess I just uninstall it and move on.

Notes for the 1.2 Patch has been release. The list of bug fixes is insanely long and embarrassing. I don't blame Sony for continuing to ban it from the Playstation store.

It’s still banned? I haven’t checked in a while, but you’re right, that’s embarrassing with some of these NPC patches that should’ve been rectified from day one. But I totally didn’t expect on a Monday that they be releasing the 1.2 patch, as it was speculated around late April we would see it.

NPC and Police are still wooden in their demeanour compared with other RPG games.

The question is what's next now that this long awaited patch has been released.

It would be great if CDPR shared an updated roadmap on what we can expect over the coming months. Especially with regards to big and we'll documented issues that have not been resolved by this patch.

Seriously, but they also have egg on their face (as does MS) why approve such a broken game in the first place. If they marketed this game to play very well and smooth on the legacy consoles, yet it bare ran, and the bugs stopped you dead in the water - who approved the game over there?

As for CDPR, while its great they're patching it, its truly appalling to see such a long list and I wonder what was going through their mind when they decided to release the game - especially as they beat the drum of it won't get released until its ready mantra

Interestingly last week I came across a £29 game in the Xbox store. It has the disclaimer "This game is a preview. Only buy if you are happy to play it in its current state"

When I saw that I was like "wtf". It would be like a restaurent advertising "This meal won't be cooked as expected. Only buy if you are OK with that"

As for CP2077. The game breaks my heart. Night city is stunning and the weapons are sexy. I haven't played it since January in hope that the game will be overhauled and meet expectations set many years ago.

The one thing that I keep dwelling on, is this game has no load screens. Take other RPGs where you enter a building or location and you have to go through a load screen. CDPR certainly touted the lack of load screens, but I keep wondering if they built this game traditionally then each location could be more densely populated with NPCs that interact with you and more details to the world. I know its easy being an armchair quarterback, stating from my ignorance what would or wouldn't have worked but so many games use loadscreens to load up sections of the game, I can't help but wonder.

I may fire the game back up, now that the patch has been dropped, but I've been away from it so long I may be better off restarting it from the beginning. I'd love to see what it looks like on my Xbox X, (I know the 4k version isn't out yet), but I'd rather wait until I see the price drop and even then, I may be better off on the PC for now

The minimal loading screens is great but not 100% exclusive to the game.

I just fired up the game on my Series X for the first time since January. Driving has improved thanks to the 1.2 patch, the cars are much manageable. However, having played Assassins Creed Origins for the past three months, I have to say that CP2077 looks very very bad.

It feels like I am playing a tech demo rather than a finished game. First ad foremost, popping is still present. Worst of all, NCPs look completely life less and don't make a contribution to the world feeling believable.

A moment ago I stood on a pavement with 10-15 NCPs at either side walking past me. I fired my shot gun at one an NCP and then turned around. Within 2 seconds three police officers are firing at me, while the 20-30 NCPs on the pavement have completely DISSAPEARED! This is on a Series X :D

Even the hyaenas and hippos in AC Origins are more believable and smarter. In Cyberpunk the police nor the NPCs chase you or are intelligent enough to dodge or seek cover.

If you are curious, just buy a used physical copy that you can sell of if you wish. Other than that, forget about this game until Q3/Q4 when the next gen version will launch - hopefully with major improvements to the game.

Oh I know, but to my simple mind, we have a game that looked like it was supposed to have more games within games, more indepth NPCs and a full lively world to explore. Yet it doesn't and one major difference that I see, is the lack of loading screens. This may have nothing to do with it, but it may be a partly the cause.

Everything.
Oh, interesting.

I like the game, but it didn't fully grab me. I think if I restart the game it will be enjoyable, but it seems to be one of those games that if you stick with it, its hard to get back into it.

As for the game play, there's certainly sections that I chose not to do, like hacking and what not. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

A few hours ago CD Red released a long video explaining the business priorities and future direction. These are my main observations:

-They have acknowledged that they are severely under-resourced for their ambitions. They are actively pursuing M&A activity to acquire more talent and technical expertise.
-From 2022 they will develop a new way of working that will enable parallel development of different IPs. Basically games will be designed to share as much as possible e.g physics engine, graphics engine, damage engine, NCP mechanics etc.
-The main priority is to fix CP2077. Only when it's as a satisfactory standard will they develop the next generation version that's due in 2021. Expect this version in Q4 at the earliest if not Q1 2022.
-The multiplayer version of CP2077 has been cancelled in favour of a multiplayer platform/community that will serve all their games.
-Next gun version of Witcher 3 will be released in H2 2021.
-Going forward CD Project Red will be more coy when it comes to teasing games or sharing details about game mechanics. Marketing will kickstart much closer to release with greater transparency on performance across all platforms.

Anyone want to take a guess about whether the game will be abandonned or thoroughly revamped?

Honestly I'm guessing neither. If they made the driving better and keep fixing the annoying bugs I'd be fine if they added more story DLC in the existing system.
I think that's all CDPR will do. To abandon the game or rework it to deliver the original premise will cost far too much financially. CDPR will likely fix the known bugs, throw in a few minor free DLC's to try and kindle some good will across the community. CDPR will then look to launch more extensive paid DLC's, equally without the core gameplay/mechanics being overhauled Cyberpunk 2077 will remain to beautiful to the eye, if not rather & dull empty and overall a mediocre game...

IMO CDPR should have stuck with the original plan for the game and if wanting to introduce the Jonny Silverhand character they should have applied the old adage of "less is more" not dial it up to 11. This could have opened the for a paid DLC as that's exactly how the main storyline of the game feels and plays out like, being far too short and lacking substance.

Yesterday CDPR stated their commitment to both Cyberpunk and the Witcher franchises.

From 2022 they aim to develop games for both franchises in parallel using the same underlying tech and mechanics. This implies that there will be another CP2077 games.

As you said, they are likely to patch up the current game as much as they can + "small DLC", accept that it under delivered and basically develop a better sequel.

I would not be surprised if they cancel the next gen version if developing it proves to be costly in human resources and money.

True, equally the presentation was a rather flowery sales piece for the stockholders. Tend agree that a better sequel is a solid solution for CDPR assuming they can regain public trust and generate a decent level of interest. I've thought for some time that the framework of Night City etc. is more of a backbone to build on, not that this excuses CDPR of misleading it's customers to such extents.

The city is genuinely impressive, unfortunately the gameplay is the very opposite running from mediocre to abysmal. Even if CDPR can fix all the gameplay mechanics Cyberpunk 2077 will still remain to be average barring the graphics, as it simply boils down to shallow looter/shooter.

Next gen I think that they will follow through as they are very likely to take more heat regarding the last Gen consoles and the likely significant difference in the end product (as in finished) versus what CDPR sold the public, that and potentially attract more ire from Sony...

I got this game on X-mas.... its taking 110 gbs of space on my ps5.... waiting for the next gen upgrade....

like they should just be like it's never ever going to work on a ps4 !!! Stop canceling stuff that will make it a better game to get it to run on a obsolete system.

Problem being there's millions of PS4's out there and far from obsolete with CDPR already more than clearly illustrating that it's all too happy to sacrifice quality & customer satisfaction if the stakes are high enough. CDPR simply wanted to cash in on the Christmas rush, hence the premature & shoddy release. Bottom line is CDPR is a game developer with known history, they knew exactly the state of the game on release.

Guarantee that CDPR's primary focus is to get the game running on the last Gen consoles for the sales, to appease Sony and to avoid further legal action. Like as not the game will not advance barring bug fixes as the last Gen consoles will hold it back one way or the other...

Yupp. Night city is a stunning backbone and so is the overall theme, weapons and original ideas.

It will be alot easier to create a sequel that will please as feedback on what the game is missing is pretty much unanimous across countless youtube videos, articles and forum posts.

Fully repairing CP2077 isn't possible because of the clunky way in which it has been coded and developed. The new red engine and CP2077 were developed in parallel. Furthermore many aspects of the game were developed in isolation and ended up failing integration tests.

Think of it as a favela or shanty town built on a valley above a river. Making a small change somewhere can have a big negative impact elsewhere. Basically CP2077 has a BIG technical debt.

Hence why the presentation focused on an entirely new approach to game development.

I like that the next installment of Witcher 4 and CP2077 will share underlying technology. Hopefully this means that we will have the option to play the next CP game in third person for greater immersiveness into the role playing.

Holy batman. In order to improve performance on PS4, CDPR has removed objects and NCP or downgraded textures.

Before my rig got smashed, I played a little bit after installing the 1.2 patch. I bumped, talked, followed, hijacked cars, point gun... the NPC's... to see their were any changes. The one thing that stood out was following the NPC's to the corner of a block... and everyone would stop at the corner, and turn around and walk back... LOL... Anyway... hope it's playable for PS4 owners.
