So, Best Buy thinks it’s funny to troll me roughly 24 hours before the launch of Cyberpunk. The first email they sent me, stating that my game was ‘ready for pick up’ on Monday, December 7 (And today is Wednesday), followed by a second email arriving with an hour, staying ‘they made a mistake’ and is scheduled on time for Thursday, December 10:

Maybe I should perma-ban Best Buy for trolling.😁

I haven't even received a shipping confirmation for my physical copy. However I live a 5min drive away from one of their stores.

Should the game not arrive by 1100am tomorrow, I will pop in buy the physical copy, and then simply return the online order in the same store once it has arrived.

Like rumoured, the streets look a bit bare on consoles compared with PCs.

Series X and PS5 architectures are capable of superior resource utilisation by only loading/rendering what's in view.

I hope that Sony and MS work closely with developers of open world game to take advantage of this architecture. It would enable denser environments and improved visuals but with small frame rate penalties.

I opted for curbside pick up, and from my understanding, Best Buy is expecting at least 150 to 200 people show up for this game, and I can tell you I won’t be venturing in a store to deal with that.

The top picture says it’s ‘running on PS5’, what is the bottom picture running on in comparison?

It looks like (from the article) that the game is running in BC mode on the PS5 (they claim a performance more is missing from PS5 version). Maybe when the next gen versions come out next year the NPC count will increase to match the PC.

Got it. Thanks. I ordered mine for the XBox OSX, should be interesting to see how this fairs in comparison.
To be honest the 4k/60fps target is better than I expected given the endless delays. HDR support from day one is great to.

I recently upgraded from a non-HDR 4k TV to one with HDR at 1,000nit. The difference in gaming is huge. Assasins Creed Origins looks stunning in HDR.

Ray tracing may be the talk of the town but HDR is more visible and impactful across all scenery, compared with RT which requires very reflective surfaces to stand out.

Here's a nice video that some people could find beneficial. There's no spoilers but it provides the back story (something I was unaware of), and some of the game mechanics.

The person does a lot of fallout coverage and I like what he has to say for the most part and this video falls into that category as well

It might not be as populated as the PC but there's still people milling about it looks like. This sounds pretty good: "After roughly one hour of gameplay, we’re impressed with how the game stacks up visually compared to PC, considering that this version of the game is designed to run on old console hardware (albeit with a performance boost from PS5)."

I am looking forward to DF's generational comparison for sure!

This is a video of someone just driving around on a PC. No gameplay or missions spoiler.

Night city is gorgeous!

Thanks for the no gameplay/spoiler message... So glad you found an ultrawide vid... I maximized the vid on my 3440x1440 ultrawide and it fills the whole screen... It looks amazing. Now I'm considering leaving an hour early from work to play at 4pm PST... LOL

I just watched the video on my TV for the first time.

My jaw dropped. The level of art directing and diversity in detail is just insane. It makes Spiderman Miles Morales look like an environment of copy and paste buildings.

Congrats to those who will play Cyberpunk on a 75-85 inch TV. Once I am in night city i don't know how I will want to do anything else.

From what I saw/read the reviewers copy of the game had some restrictive DRM that impacted performance. Reportedly we won’t have that to worry about
Don't forget to download the GeForce Game Ready driver for CP2077 if you are playing it today (in 2 hours).

NVIDIA DLSS support should enhance performance alone to what the Tom's hardware review posted. Which is why more reputable tech reviewers are waiting till launch to do they performance testing.

Well, I’m still thinking Night City will look stunning on my 65” Samsung QLED. 😁. As much as it is about the viewing immersion, sound to me is equally important, my JBL sound system is killer where I can soak in the environment.

Thanks for the heads up, I just finished updating that. I'll be starting this game first thing tomorrow morning - I have karate tonight, so a bit of work before play

I'm going to force myself to go to bed before midnight so I don't stay up all night playing. Morning play for the win! :D

I probably could just wait, but can you commandeer any vehicle in Cyberpunk? I realize it’s not GTA, but I was just wondering about this earlier, and I didn’t research any YouTube videos, being there’s too many spoilers. Otherwise, I guess I’ll figure it out in less than 18 hours.😁

I know in the beginning you absolutely cannot. They want you driving crap cars at the beginning and getting a sense of accomplishment for getting better rides. They did say you can improve your tech, which would change this but I don't know anything past that. Not going to research for the same reasons!

Here's a spoiler free video of the game, compiled reviews, and a synopsis of the good, bad and ugly.
The bugs seem to be the major issue, even with a day 0 patch. It seems the reviewers played on an unpatched copy, and developer then issued a partial Day 0 patch which helped but didn't clean up all of the game impacting bugs.

I'm a bit more tempered with my expectations, though the game is easily garnering 9 out of 10 scores with the bugs, so it does appear to be a good game
So I think the top of your post when you mentioned the unpatched copy is absolutely correct. As of this moment, There’s gamers posting on external sites saying it ‘crashes, glitches and is unplayable’. But others are highly questioning if some of these gamers are playing without the patch, being they set their clocks for different time zones, where they could play the game ahead of schedule without the download.

I was reading a few comments off Polygon, where others were claiming the game is ‘garbage, Cyberpunk rushed everything, etc’. The Internet can be such a dangerous place where people are looking just to be malicious with tearing down such a major project over the course of 10 years. There will be loads of patches to come, just like Rockstar does with all their games, they’re never perfect, but I’m hoping the ‘day one’ Patch rectifies anything that would be too erratic.

At this point, I’m just ready to play this myself and see how it performs.
