Apple has had bulging battery issues forever. They NEVER learn. They continue to focus on thinness rather than battery containment. I’ve had multiple powerbook/macbook/ibook/mbp with swelling batteries. And one iphone and a watch series 0 that was replaced due to bulging batteries.Of course, they designed in the a bad batch of batteries? I'm not feeling you here, that question does not make any sense to me.
My MBPro 2014's gets so hot that touching your finger above the keyboard near the edge that it can feel like fire. I added a fan widget to increase fan speed to keep it from burning up.
Gee, lets look at some math skills here. 26/420,000. holy moly that is a bad quality problem! Have you ever heard of Dell or HP effecting a recall this far out (and yes their batteries go bad once in awhile too). I think that Apple's response is very good, few companies would recall for such a small occurrence of issues. And all you naysayers, lets just get some numbers together. A small number of issues is to be expected in any manufacturing process, by any manufacturer. So to say this is only Apple is false.
Not sure what’s going on but i bought said device between said dates and apparently my device doesn't qualify for the battery swap. I've heard others say the same thing. Were they bad batches of batteries? Any one else experience this?
That would not be good in an airplane![]()
FWIW - I use a Mid 2015 15" MBP for work and mine shows as not eligible for the recall, so apparently this does not effect all Mid 2015 15" MBP's.
That hole in the bottom has got to help with ventilation, right?
That’s actually a really good question. Next time I go to an Apple store if I remember I’ll definitely ask one of the employees there. If your Macbook Pro explodes before you have the battery replaced, does Apple give you a replacement Macbook Pro 2015 or something else perhaps better?
