I did not get it! could someone please post it?

EDIT:IN return here is the old iTunes Logo
content

I made a quick edit to the new icon to just take out the insane shine effect, which really killed it. It's not much, but I figured someone else might want something simple as well.

I think the new icon is okay, however I am surprised no one's mentioned the atrocious grey on grey sidebar. I keep thinking the window is not selected, or there's a pop up message behind my itunes window. It also takes a second longer to find one's bearing's when choosing what to click.

Perhaps we are being a little nitpicky, but we like apple products, and I think it naturally follows that many here care about aesthetics.

*just saw the other thread on this

The icon is the least of my worries - iTunes 10 crashes on launch for me - I haven't been able to use it since I installed it.

To the horizontal

Vertical traffic light be gone

(Terminal) defaults write com.apple.iTunes full-window -int -1

Taken from another forum.

I wish they would just have taken the iTunes icon from the iOS (you know that white note with a white circle) just to make it consistent across the whole Apple platform.

lol, i was watching the live feed, and posted what i thought of it on that main macforum thread running during the feed.

"that new icon is yuk"

iTunes 10 is surprisingly different. Biggest re-design of iTunes in years.

I like it. The grey theme, it looks clean and cool.

And i don't mind the horrible logo either.

New iTunes Icon

Yikes. You'd think they'd come up with something much better for the 10th version.

Apple seriously is in need of better icon designers.

At first I was like, "Hey, the new icon is ugly." Then I clicked it on start-up and it opened iTunes in two bounces as opposed to seven or eight. I love the new icon!

Despite my dislike for the new icon, I must say that iTunes 10 does appear to be performing a lot better under Windows. Now if they put in Windows 7 Libraries support, I'll be happy with it. :)

There was a time when OS X icons looked awesome - just look into your Utilities folder.

Since the actual iTunes interface lacks significant colour, that blue icon seems even more out of place.

Have a look at the sync icon to see what iTunes 10 could have looked like - professional, elegant, and grey like the UI!

iTunes, an homage to the late Tweetie 2

I'm working on applying this to all the iTunes document type icons. However, I've got the Application icon itself completed (in all sizes).

It's an homage to the late Tweetie 2.

While I actually like the new icon, is there anyway you could chrome that bad boy out like the isync icon above?

I'm using this icon at the moment, might make my own :p..

I still don't think it matches up with the other icons, but its better then Apple one..

Plenty of lovely replacement icons here. What bothers me even more is how grey the application is. There's barely any contrast on my MacBook's screen as it is. It's much harder to use this version.
