Too bad no windows.
It uses KeePass’ database so you can access from any PC using any KeePass program. What I like about this is even is Strongbox closed shop today my passwords are retrievable fell a variety of programs.

Already been said many times here and elsewhere. Used to be a great product. But it's now unusable; the required subscription, and the ironic requirement for multiple passwords (for a product called 1Password). A password manager is the last thing you should have to maintain a subscription for.

No thank you. Not being threatened of losing access to my passwords (I know, it’s freezing them, but locking out autofill makes the entire software a worthless experience) on a monthly basis has been surprisingly refreshing to my mental health. Glad I switched to Minimalist one time purchase. They added travel mode last update too!
I’m just finding out about Minimalist now from your post. This actually looks pretty impressive, think I’ll try it out!

Well, this is what I expected with my luck or lack thereof. 😞 I was on the original standalone plan for YEARS, and decided to sign up for an individual subscription last week to get some of the added features. I have 350 items in 1Password. (passwords, credit cards, bank accounts, software license keys, secure notes, etc)

And ALL of your data is now on their servers? Yes encrypted but they have access to it.

Do people really have THAT many passwords?
There are some that use one or few passwords, but that's the crux of the issue!

I'm curious how many things are people 'subscribed' to, monthly or yearly. The subscription fatigue feels never ending with every other app lately.
I'm assuming we're talking about strictly optional stuff. So expenses like rent, mortgage, utilities (including internet and cell phone), gasoline for work/travel, bus/metro passes, toll roads, etc., are out

======= Streaming Services
I have CuriosityStream which I haven't used much, but it's only $20 per year, so it's cheap enough to "just keep it". They also added Nebula which I'd like to hold on to

Paramount Plus essentials edition - This is free for a year courtesy of T-Mobile. However, this has ads and it's only slightly better than ad-supported Hulu (which is a rather low bar to clear). I'm cancelling this when the time comes. Whenever I return to this service, I'm going to do ad-free.

I have Amazon Prime which is $10 a month. When this expires, I'm cancelling this (it goes up to $140 per year) in favor of another SS (probably Netflix. That and HBO Max are the major ones I haven't done yet). I'll only have one other SS at a time (CuriosityStream and Nebula are strictly documentaries, so it's a whole different category), so $5 to $20 per month

======= Misc.
Gym membership ($35/mo) - It's getting hot. I'll consider going month-to-month for a few months for the summer

Apple Arcade ($45/yr) - I'm still on the fence about this. I leaning towards yes as it's relatively low cost. I'll reevaluate after a year to see if it's something worth keeping, or ended up being something I didn't really get enough use out of.

Costco ($60 per year) - They're a good company, so I don't mind staying with them even though I really could cancel. I don't live near one so I can't take advantage of many of their services. OTOH, I won't go crazy like some folks and spend an extra hundred to thousands of $'s over the course of a year!

MuseScore ($30/yr) - I can download sheet music and MP3 files. Sheet music is in their format (which I can edit and playback), or PDF which has its conveniences.

Sirius XM ($80 to $120/yr) - This is built into my car. Uses satellite radio so it saves on data, and I can still get this if internet goes out (not often, but there are patches of highways that are kinda dead). I'll be on a promo rate. As nice as this is, if I have to pay the regular price of $360 per year for this, I'm out!

.

I have a whole lot of other things that aren't technically subs, but are definitely recurring payments. Examples include restocking on healthier foods (not cheap, but I can't stomach fast food like I used to, and I'd like the option to not have to cook all the time), and donations.

I moved to the sub a couple of years ago and it's been great. I really had no problem making sure the app and the developers stuck around and making it better. But not having a Mac App Store version was the line for me. I cancelled my annual sub. I am using iCloud Keychain + Bitwarden now. Best of luck to you, 1Password!

I wish 1Password 8 would of stayed like 1Password 7. Oh well.

It would be cool if they had a one time payment too like $150
The writing's been on the wall. The issue is, as soon a company can't sustain themselves with this sort of model, they either close up shop, or find other ways to make ends meet. And sometimes, it means switching to a subscription model (see 1Password :D )

I am still using 1Password v6.8.9 with my stand alone license. Works great in macOS Monterey, Also use 1Password v7 on iOS 15.

i've been experimenting with bitwarden which works very well. icloud keychain is probably enough for most apple users

Only work well if your entire ecosystem is Apple.

I have Linux and Windows so is a bum.
Of course, cross-platform is definitely a different use case which is understandable. Although I've seen some great alternatives as well, including Bitwarden.
iCloud Keychain is available on Windows as a Chrome extension (you need to have the iCloud app installed, too) although it is not quite as good as on macOS.

Over 200 logins and info!

Enpass is better.

1Password 8 is much worst than 1Password 7 no offense.
1password 6 is just as good and free forever. works on all my equipment.
I won't (will not ever) use a subscription product and I won't use a Canadian based storage facility. I have nothing against Canada but I want my passwords here (US). I share my password on Icloud but I would rather do it on my own servers.

I don't mind paying the subscription for 1Passwords Families and I trust them. However I do feel the much hyped and controversial version 8 has been a big let down. While it doesn't feel as "non-native" as some had claimed, it also feels somehow less polished than the older version with things as simple as creating a new password and setting the parameters of that much harder to find. Combine that with a somewhat increasingly unintuitive way to fill in passwords in Safari (do I use a key combo, do I click the 1Password icon in the input box to bring up a touchID box, does it just fill the box in, do I use the 1password icon in the safari toolbar... it always seems to be different for each website) and I'm growing frustrated as a 6-7+ year user. I continue to hope that Apple provides and excellent way to manage passwords and 2FA beyond their current system (I want an APP guys). I doesn't need all the bells and whistles of 1Password but needs to be simple, straigthforward, and consistent. Maybe this year is the year with iOS 16 and the next MacOS.

This 50% is actually a price I would pay if it was permanent. At $20/year it is equivalent to buying a new $60 version every 3 years which I think is fair. However, given the 50% off runs out after a year I still won't be biting and staying on 1Password 6

Agree about the price. I paid $50 for my last license that lasted over 3 years. Since I was going to have a more than 50% price increase with their (at the time) subscription price I started shopping around. I don't regret switching to something else.
