The only positive about this size of a vendor being sold out this fast is that it must mean that the supply chain funnel is EMPTY and a replacement, albeit incremental upgrade product must be coming. I have the feeling we’re probably going to see the END of any 32GB model and probably 64GB will be the new base model with larger models coming.

I’ve said for a while, a needed capability for these devices needs to be disconnected portability. Being able to download series and movies in HD or 4K, that wouldn’t require an high speed internet connection is probably a coming functionality.

And smaller.
And faster
And...

I ordered mine early in the morning and chose to pick up in store. When I got there I told them I had an online order pickup and they made me wait 10 mins and then told me they were sold out. I told the AT&T rep that I had the confirmation email and I ordered early in the morning and already paid for it. She said they will give me a refund but I insisted she go check in the back and she came out with the only 1 in stock that was put on hold for me and said luckily someone put it on hold for me. Doesn’t seem like they have a very good system of holding inventory for orders. I think they are just getting rid of extra inventory. So far loving it, it’s my first Apple TV.

Opinion: Apple needs their own cheapo streaming stick like the fire stick

Well I find airplay has lag with video, especially if the file size is large. Beamer app is ok, but glitchy with larger files.

personally, I really dislike Apple TV. The controller is just awful and would rather have something that can stream videos on the fly.

You’re doing something wrong. I have used mine to AirPlay music and movies from my Mac/iPhone when the internet was out.
Turn off your internet in your home but leave your router on and open Netflix on your iPhone and start playing a video from cellular and then choose your Apple TV in airplay and the Apple TV will receive an error.

AT&T today introduced a new deal on the 32GB Apple TV 4K streaming box, now priced at $90, down from a regular price of $179 at Apple and other major resellers ($89 off). This is the lowest that we've tracked for a new model of the Apple TV 4K, and is well timed because today is also the launch day of Apple's new streaming service Apple TV+.

Note: MacRumors is an affiliate partner with AT&T. When you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small payment, which helps us keep the site running.

You can get the deal by visiting AT&T's website, adding the Apple TV 4K to your cart, and checking out before the offer expires. AT&T noted that customers will have a 14-day return policy on the device, and purchases are limited to four per customer. With standard shipping, the Apple TV 4K should arrive between November 6 and November 8.

Since September 10, Apple has also been bundling one year of Apple TV+ with any purchase of an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch, or Mac. This means that if you take advantage of AT&T's offer today, you'll also be getting one year of Apple TV+ at no extra cost. Our Apple TV+ guide has more information on the service and its shows.

Anyone think AT&T will put this back in stock for another round for this deal?

I’m not going to do that. But, that is a very specific situation that you did not mention. The situation that I talked about…does work.

For whatever it’s worth to anyone who may care, I received my order today.

(edit - my intent is merely to provide a benchmark for AT&T's order to delivery timeframe in case others are still waiting on them. I have no illusions that anyone gives a flying flip about _my_ order, and post only in case the info might be helpful to other. :D )

I hope this hints at a hardware refresh, but I fear that’s just wishful thinking.

I know A10X chip may not be the shiniest and newest chip from Apple. But it does all Apple TV needs to do, and does them well.

A10X still has a bit better GPU compared to A12, so it plays Arcade games better than the average iPhone XS. It obviously plays any Apple Music or 4K content without stutter and the navigation is still buttery smooth.

I'm all in for a new hardware refresh, but there's no need for one, yet. It's not ATV requires a super computer to do its job.

I had my ordered cancelled at 10:30 am this morning because I did store pick up :-(

Order still in progress. I have very little hope at this point, especially after this all happened with the XS silicone cases. AT&T is truly garbage.

I was up very early on Friday morning and got my order in around 2am pacific. My aTV 4K just arrived this afternoon.

Just got an email saying mine was cancelled with no reason given. ****ers.
Same. Got an email this morning and the reason is blank. When I check my order online it still shows as open. I’m guessing (sadly) that the email is correct.
