my order for the 32 phone jut changed to 10/21, coincidence with the fact that all phones are showing an availability date of 10/20 on Verizon's website? I'm going with yes. I think their system is just mirroring what their current stock is. I'm not running off to cancel my order that I placed before 3am. We'll get it friday, try not to freak out too much...

Thanks to everyone that posted about their 32/64 orders. While I wasn't freaking out, it is nice to show that there is a pattern and that I can now with much more certainty attribute the change in date on the order status page to the estimate for new orders.

It was an excellent theory before, but I would say it is now confirmed.

My order date changed to 10/21 too and I ordered even a few mins before 2:01. When I check my status, it still says its processing. Is that normal?

Or you can just accept the fact that their system is displaying the date incorrectly and that you'll have your phone on or before 10/14. I'm 99.999% sure that's exactly what's going to happen for various reasons that have already been shared by myself and others numerous times in this thread.

If that's the case, good. It's still a fail on their part that they have a system that is not working correctly and that they haven't issued an email to those of us wondering what the deal is. I'm not canceling my order regardless like some have. I'll wait if I have to. But if I have to wait past the day they said, you better believe I'm not going to be happy about that.

nobody knows whether it's confirmed. People are calling it a "technical glitch in the system", but really nobody has any idea what the dynamics of the relationship between Verizon and Apple really is. Isn't it possible that there's some stipulation in their contracts that says that orders from Apple.com ship prior to orders from Verizon within the first two weeks? Less likely, but that would fit the pattern. Unless I hear it from an official source at Verizon (reps not included), I will believe what they systems is saying until I have the phone in my hands.

So bottom line, there is definitely some question as to whether this is a technical glitch with the order status system or not.

I ordered a 34GB black and a 16GB white around 3:30am, and my shipping date changed, too.

I just got off the phone with internet sales at Verizon, and they said it was probably due to unexpected number of sales and that my order got pushed back. This sucks very very much. I slept like 3 hours that night.

Ordered 2 32gb around 3am Friday and it now says 10/21 just like I knew it would. If you ordered early you will get it next week. They can't delay everyone's order just because they ran out. This is just Verizon's way of saying we're out of stock. If your e-mail says 10/14 then expect to get it next week.

Edit: Note that Apple's site now says "Ships: 1-2 weeks" for every model...everyone is just selling out.

you honestly believe that nobody that ordered through Verizon is going to get their phones on time? take the foil hat off.

I ordered the black 32G and got a confirmation email at 11:55 PST(few minutes before official preorder time). Today my Expected Ship Date says 10/21. I am sure I will get it 10/14 though. If not, oh well, I've been living with a dumb phone and another week won't kill me.

I ordered it on Verizon at around 4:30am as I was fighting with the Apple store between 3:30am and then. As of yesterday, my order status showed that they are having problems processing my order to please contact support. Needless to say I wasn't very happy...

I called them up this morning to figure out exactly what was going on and if in fact there was a problem, why would they not call me but instead make me have to find out on my own!?

Coming from the IT support field, I didn't blow up at the guy who answered or anything like that. I asked the simple question and he clearly stated that their system is a little glitchy right now in regards to feeding the users order statuses. However, he can see on his end that it has been ordered and is on schedule.

I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet. At least not until we get closer to D-Day and you haven't received shipping notification!

I don't *think* so, but I also don't *know* so. And I surely hope we get them. There's just all these people saying "confirmed" as if they know something, but in reality nobody knows what they hay is really going on. Apple does weird unexpected things.

Am I able to see the expected ship date before the pre-order is finalized? I would like to pre-order, but if it will take until the 21st-28th to arrive I'd rather take my chances at the Verizon store on the 14th. So would I be able to see the ship date, and then have the option of not going through with the order? Looking to get a black 64gb. Thanks.

don't bother. if you try to order any model it isn't going to be delivered by the 14th. at this point you are better grabbing a chair and getting to a Verizon/Apple store early Friday morning or even Thursday night.

Ship date now for all models is 10/20 (which means arrival on 10/21).

I did a little research, and as long as your preorder confirmation email said you would get the phone on the 14th, you will get it on the 14th. Also, people have talked to Verizon Reps, and the Reps said that on their end it still said they (the customer talking to them) would receive the phone on the 14th, despite it saying the 21st when the customer checks his order status.

I ordered at 3:10 AM EST on Verizon.com (16GB White). My ship date got pushed back too.

This is the most ignorant crap ever. I called Verizon and they said since I'm a new customer (going from ATT to Verizon) that my credit check had to be completed and then my order is processed after.

So I said... well why don't they account for that? They have the time my order went in... regardless of needing a credit check or not.. my order should be processed in order I submitted it, not the order of when my credit check was completed.

64gb black, i ordered at 3:05am on verizon. Initial shipping date was the 14th, now it says the 21st.

Anyways with everyone getting delayed, is there anyone who still has the 14th as their shipping date?

well what can I say.

Thats Verizon for you. Always fing you over in the end and providing crappy information...

The stated ship date doesn't concern me at all. I am more worried about the fact that there is no indication of any activity on my card. No temporary hold, authorization, etc.

Verizon iPhone 4 orders shipped before Apple iPhone 4 orders, so if so, it's a new change.

Not me. Also 64 gb black. Ordered 3:15am EST on verizon. Original email said 14th. Last night the order status still said 14th but as of this morning and it said 21st. Bummer.

I've patiently (kind of) waited years for an iPhone on VZW (contract just ended this Aug, ATT stinks here)... what's another week i suppose.... fingers crossed it's a display issue and still comes next week...

This is typical for preorder items, I don't think anyone that ordered from verizon has a charge yet. It should post just before shipping.

32 GB White, order status says 10/21, e-mail says 10/14. During the ordering process it also said something like 'delivery or ship by 10/14'.

Edit: Ended order at like 3:02 am EDT, my confirmation e-mail has a 3:05 am timestamp.

Edit 2: Just spoke with Verizon CS. He said that it's Apple's fault and we're at their mercy. 10/21 is an accurate delivery date for me.

Edit 3: My shipment date now says 10/14 at the Order Status page. (?!)

Mine 64 changed also and I was told by Verizon that ALL orders will now go out on the 21st. He said they got a internal message this morning stating this also. So I don't know what the hell is going on but my time says 1:56 so I know I was in the first few people to order. This is ********* and they better get it fixed.
