I actually think there is a pattern

This actually confirms they are being sent from distribution centers in the US.

So basically, they sent lots to each center and each center starts allocating first come first serve for that particular center.

So the more popular a model is for a particular area the longer the wait.

Simply put we are not all in one queue, but different ones depending on distribution center.

I'm fairly certain apple is charging based on location and watch collection/band. A lot of the Milanese watches haven't moved to the "preparing" stage yet

That's why the same watch is still "processing" when email confirmation was 12:06 for North East while "preparing to ship" with email confirmation at 12:10 for Mid West.

Most people I've seen with that watch configuration (including myself) had it go from "processing" to "preparing for shipment" back to "processing." We also got charged for them, so check to see if you have.

Does anyone know why it went back to processing?

I am in the same boat, living in the same area, ordering the same watch.

It seems like there are quite a lot of us with this model of watch that haven't seen movement. Maybe Apple is bringing in reinforcements from China...or maybe they are sitting in a pallet in Kentucky...sad and lonely waiting for someone to scan them...

I agree. I feel like us SG black bands are a day behind everyone else in terms of processing. So everyone else may receive shipping notices today, whereas we'll enter "preparing for shipment" today and receive shipping notices tomorrow. But what do I know. I'm just a guy who really wants his Apple Watch.

I got my prep for shipping change and charge yesterday and I got the 42 SG sport with black band... I think there aren't many of them is the real issue.

It appears no one who ordered these models have had any movement on these. Also, you should be here for all kinds of comments since it's a forum for rumors. Be prepared for lots of smart and dumb comments!

First time poster. I believe the charging of cards is related to shipping and how far you are from the transit hubs. For example in Florida it ships from TN and all past preorders have been charged Tuesday night or Wednesday

Yes, they were about 45 minutes apart yesterday afternoon (5pm EST). 42mm sport charged and changed status first, then the 38mm sport.

The lack of movement on watches with black bands is likely due to two possibilities -

1) They're in batches from a different factory (or different part of the factory) and we'll see mass-movement in orders once they're broken down for order fulfillment.

2) Apple put most of their inventory in the more visible and easily identifiable Apple Watch SKUs such as the colored sports bands and milanese loop so that on day-1 the chances of people being notices in public with an Apple Watch are pretty high. If you watch the TV add there's almost no black straps shown other than on the Edition.

I suspect it's a bit of both, but as someone with a 12:02am order for both the SS black sports band and SS classic buckle I'm preparing to be disappointed.
