Carriers and logistics isnt the reason for the 2 week gap. At this point apple and the carriers know how to get the deliveries done with no problem. They've been doing it since 07. Supply makes much more sense. I just think apple isn't ready for this launch date. i think they are scrambling aroind big time. I really hope all of us with the 24-8th dates get our watches Friday. But I am preparing myself to be disappointed.

I completely agree with this. I think Apple has NO idea of how many orders can be delivered on the 24th. I'm prepared to be very disappointed. My MacPro order last year changed to Preparing to ship 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before it actually shipped.
I suspect this forum is going to be inundated with very angry posts come this Friday.

I hope it's you and not me. Sorry we are stoked.

I tend to agree. The tea leaves might indicate that the first two waves very well might run into each other based on what you ordered. They are ramping up based on orders and assuming efficiency in the production process there might not be a lot of difference in delivery times for people who got in in the first few hours (despite delivery windows indicating otherwise). But this is all speculation....

Apple wants to under promise and over deliver. I believe that the delivery window is nothing more than to account for things outside of Apple's control, like UPS/Fedex. I'd be shocked if almost everyone with a 4/24 - 5/8 didn't at least see a delivery attempt on the 24th.

Someone on the /applewatch subreddit posted a screenshot a few minutes ago showing his 38mm white sport watch order changed to Preparing for Shipment.

I'd assume updates are coming.

Not buying it, why would only one person have the change? Looks like HTML editing. I know that when it really starts to happen, people will be posting here like crazy, my phone will blow up with thread and email notifications.

It's a fake. You can't cancel your order once it's gone prepared for shipping.

I am fully expecting delivery of the two I ordered on Friday. I will be shocked and hugely disappointed if that is not the case.

Seriously. Don't understand why people continue time and time again to come in here and say, "An Apple Rep told me....."

An Apple rep told me to stop listening to random Apple reps. You'll probably hear more details on the forums or Twitter before they collectively know everything.

Someone else on that post just claimed he got a prepare for shipment. I think it's bullocks. Mine shows still processing and I ordered at 12:06 PST

It's bogus. My order went through right at 12:03PDT and I'm still processing. No charge on the card.

Is that in the first wave?
Quite late for a first waver

I agree that's late. I received my confirmation email at 3:04am ET (3mins after launch) and I'm apart of the 2nd wave(5/13-5-27)... Maybe it's depending on the type of watch purchased.

Indeed, certain Watch models were NEVER ready for the 4/24 launch including the  Watch with Link Bracelet. After I saw the delayed shipping, I quickly switched over to a different model with 4/24 shipping which was the Milanese.

i would expect we would hear from australians first when the watches change status due to the time difference they will get there watches first
