This time must be different. I was charged on 4/10 per my credit card ($1 verification charge on 4/9).

Edit: the charges are pending.
Same here!
I was freaking out because I don't remember buying anything right before the watch. What do you think it could mean? Are there any other people with similar charges done both on the 9th and 10th?

Don't freak :). It was just Apple first checking that your payment method was legitimate (the $1 "charge"). And then putting a placeholder for your actual charge. The $1 charge will never show up on your actual bill.

And now that they know your payment method is fine for the apple watch charge, your order should proceed without a hitch. So this is actually good news.

How can you possible know that? It's pure speculation and hope.
I wonder if they will all be shipping straight from China or if Apple has a "stash" of some sort right here in the U.S. Regardless, I think we won't see any CC charges until Thursday/Friday this week. Then if the first wave of watches are to be delivered by the 24th they'll be shipping out April 17, 18 or 19 depending on the shipping you chose at checkout. Again, just speculation (and hope);)

The 4/24-5/8 dates i believe will be recieved on the 24th or a few days after. Just the time it takes to be delivered to your door. Its just a safety net.

If Apple has these orders ready to be shipped on the 24th, why wouldn't they be ready to ship a few days prior like the company's other major releases, such that it delivers on the 24th? It doesn't add up.

Every day counts for oversee shipments.

Only one shipping option was available at checkout. Which makes me believe it is for sire 4/24 delivery. Otherwise apple would have had other shipping speeds.

Why do you think that Apple has never done this Date Range before, for initial orders(people who ordered right away), but is doing it now? You don't think this was done because they have an inventory problem?

I'm pretty sure they did a range on the original iPad orders, too. For the iMac G5, they didn't even GIVE a date. That was REAL excitement around waiting for status changes! Not like iPhones where you know they'll start changing 2-3 days before delivery.

I think that they wanted to give themselves a cushion for production in case anything unexpected came up with popularity of certain models. I think that most people that ordered with a 4/24-5/8 date range will see one of the 24th, but I wouldn't be surprised if some models ship later in that range.

I ordered the 42 space gray sport watch with applecare for a 4/24-5/8 delivery. So far, ive been charged $49 for AppleCare. I paid with applepay on the app, got my confirmation email at 12:04. I believe it will be a 4/24 delivery.

Yes, the iPad gen 1 had a date range for the celluar version if I remeber correctly? Maybe it was the wifi version...

Oh this IS your first time at this rodeo. Just wait until we start getting tracking info. There will be people obsessively tracking every plane and it won't be too long until someone calculates exactly how many watches there are on each plane. This one will be tough because no one has posted how big the box is for the Sport.

THEN we will all get freaked out when the shipment is stuck in customs for half a day.

I must say it was very weird to see how fast this forum changed overnight once the orders opened. I have noticed that certain trolls seemed to have gone back under their bridge now that it was too late to discourage buyers. (although a few who never before had any interest claimed to go try it on and had to report back how horrible it was)

Very good point! If it wasn't going to be delivered on the 24th, they would have given more shipping options.

This has been by far an unusual launch for Apple. So can't say for certain why they've given this date range. However what I think (hope) is that they're just covering themselves and hope to get everyone with these dates delivered by launch day.
