Honestly, who cares what the sticker/box looks like or if the image is real? Most of us will probably never touch the thing again after we take our watch out anyway. Here's to hoping for some updates so we can stop overanalyzing the nitty gritty :)

For those of us that ordered the SS with the sport band. Looks like we will still get the square box, considering the Edition with the sport band also comes in a square box.

Now THAT is packaging that looks to belong to a $1,000 watch and I personally think we shouldn't have to pay $10,000 for it. Hopefully Apple listens to feedback and ups the packaging next year or so.

Here are the photos since they no don't seem to be attached only a web link.

First time posting. I've been reading along for awhile, but this box debate has got me intrigued.

The post about the SS with sport bands being defaulted to 38 S/M and 42 M/L seems to be true. On the Apple Store app the 38 is listed as fitting 130-200mm wrists and the 42 is listed as fitting 140-210mm wrists. So they should come in the square box as well.

As for the sport box pictured... I think it may be real. Design seems to match, it's just slightly different enough to be modeled for a different product line.

That box is so fancy! I hope that it really does come in that one! I don't see why it wouldn't since it wouldn't make sense for Apple to make different boxes for different watches. No matter what specific watch it is it is still an Apple Watch. Just like no matter which phone you get you still get the same box :D

It's leather wrapped and includes a charger. Considering how strict Apple is about their margins we will never see such sophisticated package for the non-gold versions of the watch.

Maybe they will make some version of it like an accessory

Quote from the unboxing by Scott Stein, a reviewer for CNET who got an early watch,

"There are three different designs and three different types of boxes"

That's the same type of labelling the SS Apple Watch uses.

I'm calling real.

It's confirmed that they do.

The delivered by date in my deliveries app has just been updated from unknown to by 8th May #

I'm guessing that inside the box it's dual layered. The watch sits in the plastic tube packaging on top while the charger and other Apple goodies sits below that.

It's the only reason I can figure you need a box that deep and long.

Or, since this is a reseller this is a "pack" of watches. Impossible to tell without seeing the other end and if it includes the bar codes and serials.

Eagerly awaiting my apple watch like the rest of you. In response to the box, it's just weird that it's rectangular instead of square.

I remember reading somewhere (either MacRumors or The Verge) that the box doubles as a charging stand. That could explain the large size.

Does anyone really care what box it comes in? Surely they will just go in a cupboard?

Gee!! There is an APPLE WATCH inside.

Exactly. The edition has a fancy charging case, but who the heck cares about the packaging of the SS or sport model? CNET has a detailed unboxing on youtube and it's pretty standard, no frills
