So if Australians have a charge now, we should all see movement in the next 24 hours?
It's weird because none of my friends have charges...

AppleCare ALWAYS starts before you get the item. That said nothing is normal about this launch, but from my experience thats what happens. Anyone with Applecare on products bought at the time of ordering can confirm this by looking at the date Applecare started and ends and the date they received their order.

This means we will all be receiving our watches on Friday LOL
neither have mine.
Only joking. I have no friends because i spend too much time on macrumours.
Don't know quite what to make of this, but the Apple Store London Regent Street (the flagship store in the UK) is advertising that it opens an hour early (9am instead of 10am) on April 24. So far as I can tell, none of the other London stores are doing this. This would be a strange thing to do if (as expected) it has no stock of watch.

It is.
I bought my iPad 3 on launch day when I was working in New York (I live in the UK).
Applecare + had just been launched, so I purchased it and was told it was global cover.
When I dropped/damaged the iPad about 2 weeks after getting back to the UK (it was in a cheap case, while I was waiting for my Otterbox Defender to arrive!), the global cover was confirmed when I had it replaced in my local store.
To be honest, I Ordered AppleCare+ on my iPhone6 and it started after I got it lol
I normally only get Applecare on Mac Products but I did get it on my iPhone 6+ due to all the bending post.. and that started the day after I got it
That is why I hate dealing with Apple Store staff at times, you get different answers depending on who you talk to. Everyone in Australia was adamant that I had to get the policy in the UK. Cheers for this
As a side fact the demo models have no innards and are powered by a cut down iPad Air in a case recycled from the old plastic iMac. That's why they have a slight lag.

In fairness, the UK store initially said it would be £249 to swap for a replacement unit.
Applecare + wasn't available in the UK at the time, but I showed him my documents and he went away and came back with a brand spanking new (yes, in a white/retail) box.
What made it even sweeter, was that they didn't have a facility to charge me the excess (deductible in the US) and the guy just said "Don't worry about it, we can't process AC+ as it's not on our systems yet, but we'll take care of the paperwork somehow".
I never said it was not weird that they always had an estimated ship date of the cables to be sooner than any of the watches. Just that they seem to be shipping them now at the promised time. I am certain the people who are manufacturing docks are dancing the happy dance now because they can actually finish their prototype designs with a real cable and be ready sooner. Hoping now that the watches themselves ship at the beginning of the promised time like the cables.
Must be the old plastic iMac that is causing it![]()
I don't have a new charge on my CommBank card but that's probably because my initial auth is still pending from the 10th. Might be the same for the other CommBank customers on here.

Everyone but you, as I would like to see a video of you going into a store to pinch a demo model![]()
