Apple Pay has to because the token can't be used for two transactions, on a credit card, a $1 test transaction goes through jus to make sure the card is valid, Apple Pay must do it all up front as the $1 charge would be considered the transaction and the token no longer valid. Also, I doubt tokens remain open fr two weeks anyway, so even if they did hold onto the token, it would be dead by the time they try and charge it, also, I'm assuming when you make a new Apple Pay purchase, any previous unused tokens become invalid. So that's why Apple Pay must charge in full up front.

This is wrong because I used debit Apple Pay,, and nothing came out of my account yet.

Anyone who has a status change already on his order? Mine still says under work (I am in Germany - not sure what the exact translation on the US site is saying) - next step is the shipping is under preparation. Usually once they start the shipment prep the order cannot be cancelled.

So just wandering if there is already any order with that change?

Nobody's has changed yet. The translation here is processing.

Expect your orders to change by Friday, folks!

Actually, I would think by mid next week when orders start shipping.

First, you will get a processing notice. That will probably happen Monday or Tuesday. By Wednesday I would think it would move to shipping.

Don't we already have a 'Processing Items' status? It will probably go into 'Preparing for shipment' phase by Friday. It would actually ship by 20-21. And we shall receive it by 24th, some may be even earlier if previous Apple order experiences are anything to go by.

That's a good question.

I haven't read one post here that says anyone is in "Processing" stage.

At this point, I am figuring everyone still has the opportunity to cancel their order, which gets disabled once it goes into "Processing" stage.

Please clarify.

Delivery Dates 4/24-5/8

That's a good question.

Your opportunity to cancel order gets disabled once it enters into 'Preparing for Shipment' phase, that's when the actual charge to your CC occurs.

Yes, you are correct about that. My bad.

Still, nobody has had a status change in their order as far as I can read here. I expect by next Tuesday/Wednesday we will see a flood of messages of orders going into "Preparing for Shipment"

I'm in Germany and also have the 24th timeframe. But I have express shipping, not standard.

Shouldn't make a difference what your shipping method is for 24th delivery.

Standard or Express, you should get it on launch day.

Express delivery really means something if you are outside of launch date.

So I was looking at the iPhone 6 order thread & people with sept 19 delivery date had their phones shipped 4 days before that date, i.e. Sept 15 while their order status changed to 'Preparing for Shipment' around Sept 13.
Going by that, our orders should change to 'Preparing for Shipment' by Saturday at least with actual shipping occurring by Apr 20.

mine says processing item. I think it has from the start?

mine still says Processing Items Delivers: 4/24-5/8 by Standard Shipping, and I can still cancel my order- I think cancel gets greyed out when is get to preparing for shipping
