Chat with Apple Support, sounds hopeful!

So, like many of you, I preordered at 3:03am and received the shipping date rate of 4/24 to 5/8 and have been impatiently/obsessively checking the order status page and these forums..

I also thought what the heck and tried asking apple chat to see if maybe they had any new information given that the date is getting closer.. I tried to enter the screenshot in here but it isn't working. This is what the tech said when I asked about delivery dates and why Apple changed the home page from "available 4/24" to "the apple watch is coming" :

"Rest assured that getting the Apple Watch in your hands is a priority to us and we're working extremely hard to get your pre-order prepared. While we can't guarantee an earlier delivery date that what it shows in the check out page, it's always possible that your order will ship out and deliver sooner! We do generally beat our quoted shipping times, we just can't guarantee it. This is a safe estimate for us, just in case. The sooner your pre-order, the sooner we can get your Apple Watch to you!"

I know this isn't necessarily new information for many of you, but this might be good news/hope for some!

So I was looking at the iPhone 6 order thread & people with sept 19 delivery date had their phones shipped 4 days before that date, i.e. Sept 15 while their order status changed to 'Preparing for Shipment' around Sept 13.
Going by that, our orders should change to 'Preparing for Shipment' by Saturday at least with actual shipping occurring by Apr 20.

Smart man to look back at the iPhone pre orders . I'm getting more excited lol. Love pre ordering Apple devices. I could come to Macrumors forums and check all these threads excited people create lol. I couldn't talk to my friends about how excited I am to receive an apple product in my hands because they're aren't passionated about Apple products like you people are and myself . Some of you even track planes ! That's awesome.Gotta love this forum #

Tracking your iDevice Planes, trains and automobiles...

Some of you even track planes !

You can track your shipment from China through customs in Anchorage and there is a site that will let you "watch" your plane land in Lexington... yeah been there done that. Nothing like an Apple product Launch he he...

Saturday some people's orders will move to "Preparing for Shipment" then the real fun begins... "hey I ordered one minute before you and mine is still processing wha wha wha" it very fun to watch.

Rest assured, 99% of those with delivery dates on launch will likely get them on Friday April 24 although the drama building up to it deserves an Academy Award...

cheers and happy tracking!

And you know this how? Please be honest and don't mislead people. This is a guess and a hope, isn't it?

Defending the poster...

Yes, it's guess and hope but more than highly probable.

There are over 2 million watches that have been produced and ready to ship.

There should be absolutely no reason that anyone in the first wave would not get their watch next Friday.

Just when I don't want to be a part of the 1%

Its a guess and a hope based upon past Launch experiences. If you have several hours to spend go back and read the launch threads for past iPhones and iPads. OK maybe 99% is a little optimistic however I don't recall seeing many people who didn't get their product on launch day. In the past, there was no "range" if you were in the first group. It was always "Delivers: <fill in launch date> by Standard Shipping. And mine always arrived on launch date. I've seen my particular shipment not even go to "Preparing for Shipment" until two or three days before, and sit there for days etc until I got a tracking number. I've seen them ship from China 36 hours before launch and arrive on time. I've seen them ship from my LOCAL hub (Ontario, CA) the night before and arrive on time (I think that was the iPad Mini launch). Go read the threads, you'll see. Those threads are usually 100+ pages long. He he.

Good luck to all!
Michael

For those of us used to the preorder "drill" over the years, it never varies.

Apple does an exceptional job of ensuring everybody gets their product on launch day who is properly in the queue to get it.

Many times, the product arrives early enough that it is secured in UPS or FEDEX trucks overnight, the day before delivery. We have had company people come on this forum and talk about having the stock in their company yard.

I'd just like to see some movement...

I can't wait to see "Preparing for shipment".

At least Apple gave a date range that people could expect their watch. Think it was to allow delivery companies to have a cushion for unforeseen problems. I hope mine gets to me on the 24th but if it doesn't, I am not going to get mad and pitch a fit over it. I ordered a new Samsung TV and all they tell me is that it is on back order and don't give a range at all Talk about frustrating.

Peeps need to chill. If you've ever pre-ordered a device from Apple, you're used to this. For those that have the earliest ship date, you can bet you'll see movement as early as tomorrow (Monday-Tuesday at the latest). Sure, the ship window thing has raised questions, but get over it. Additionally, everybody concerned with their credit/debit cards not getting charged, here's a tip. Does your bank/credit card have an App? Download it. Then, be sure you allow push notifications for purchases...booyah...you see the charge and hence the next level of the Apple shipping process begins. Drops the mic!!!

Note that launch day iPhone 6s originated from the US, and were not shipped from China.

Is there anyone that ordered the 42mm Apple Watch in Stainless Steel with the Link Bracelet that is getting in on launch day?

Since the site wasn't up at 12:01am I tried the App and I was able to get in and complete my order at 12:03am for the 42mm Apple Watch in Stainless Steel with the Link Bracelet. My shipping timeframe is May 13th - May 27th!

iPhone 6s hasn't launched yet!!! LOL!!!

How many got a 3:01am confirmation email? I haven't seen many state that time, mostly it's 3:03 etc.

I was fortunate to get a 3:01am for the SG 42mm.

This is nothing compared to the Pebble Steel. They gave everyone a date when it would ship, then the date would come and they would push back your date a few weeks. They did that 2 or 3 times. Everyone was super pissed. Fun times. As long as I get the thing on 4/24 - 5/8 people won't have to die. Don't get me wrong, I REALLY want it on 4/24.

I also went back and searched through some of my old iPhone orders. My iPhone 6 Plus had the exact date. My 5s had a range of a few days, but I think that launch was whack and no pre-orders. You could only order on the day it became available in stores. I tried going to the store on launch day in NYC. Fail. Ended up just ordering it online after waiting in line at a Vz store for two hours only to find out that they wouldn't sell me the phone off contract. I almost switched to Boost mobile on the spot out of spite. But then I calmed down and realized that the 5s was basically the same as the 5 and I could wait a couple of weeks for it to come in the mail.

I received a confirmation email at 1:01am PST. I practiced the purchasing routine on the app a few times :)
