Delivery Thread for 27" iMac December Orders

This morning my order moved to "Preparing for shipment", at noon it was "Shipped" with a delivery date of 7th January, but now it updated to 2th January. All in one day!

Hi, Great news on your order. I ordered on the 7th from the UK, where are you?

Some people have put that theirs is coming from China (clearly they all do!) do you know how they know it's there and not made it to a closer warehouse?

I'm from Norwich in the uk, is that some of the real floyd your seeing or Australian pink floyd? I'm hoping DeWolff will be playing somewhere when I'm over, I've been wanting to see them for a while now.

No i'll be seeing the real Pink Floyd (Roger Waters) doing The Wall live. I'm going there with my dad, can't wait to be honest!

Nice, mine has been in that status for several days now. Let's hope that the next shipment to Netherlands will be this evening/tomorrow and that we'll be on that plane together!

thats redicuclous, i ordered the fifth and was starting to get pissed when i saw everyone elses going through who ordered after me, but you my friend def deserve your iMac lol

I'm also getting my 2009 27" iMac replaced by Apple Care. Had hardrive problems and screen problems. New one ordered on dec 27th got email stating its now processing...
 
My iMac is supposed to be delivered tomorrow by noon. I am impressed with this since it was shipped Friday from China. However UPS shows it as being in Kentucky already, so I won't complain if it gets delivered tomorrow!

Order placed Dec 3rd. Est delivery is Jan 2-8, so if delivered Monday it would be 2 days early.
 
Anybody know how long my package will be in china?

How Soon will Delivery Times Drop to 3-4 days???

Normally, it seems to only take 3-4 days for the iMac to ship in past versions.

Right now, there seems to be ambiguous delays. Order now and it states "Ships January" which will soon be updated with "ships February," once January is upon us.
My concern is that the demand out weighs supplies and they are being rushed out of the factory. And in all likelihood, not assembled as well or in a hurried fashion, leading to poor tolerances and mis-assembly, leading to defects and poor build quality. It has been stated that the new iMacs are difficult to assemble, especially the 27" one I plan to BTO. As time goes on, the manufacturer will learn how to better assemble the iMac more meticulously, but right now there are rumors that it is not being performed optimally. As time goes on, Im confident they will be built better than the first several batches or lots released to the early embracers.

I try to avoid first gen stuff, but am in need of a new system, so there is no doubt I will buy this version. The question is when is the right time.

When I see that the delivery times drop drastically to only a few days, I would be more than happy to order the machine, but as history has shown, there always seems to be minor problems with both hardware and software that is not caught until out in the wild for several months.

Can't think of a better way (computer-wise) to start off a New Year than with a new iMac!!

I think you ordered on the 6th??! I ordered on the 8th and I'm getting some hope here!
Sick of checking Apple... I've cut it down to once or twice a day. It'll get here.

Same here.

My question is does the Apple order status update continuously or do they update a whole pile of them at a given time during the day.

The other question is do we get a text message when the status changes or just when things ship.

New Years holiday

I expect January 3rd & 4th will see about all the first week of December orders out of processing limbo.
 
i'm so happy to see some of you all getting yours!! keep us posted on how things are going and how much you absolutely love your new toys. this is *kinda* holding me over until my ships. i didn't order until the 27th so i'll probably get mine at the end of january/beginning of february if production continues at this rate.

Germany calling :)

Ordered the 27" (3,4 i7, 8GB RAM, 3TB FD, 680MX 2GB) on 12/06 - still processing... :confused:

I'm a Macuser since 2003, first time I have to wait over 1 month for my new Mac :apple:

Can't wait for it to be delivered as I had to sell my old 2009 iMac

First time I have had to wait, although my last iMac was a base model picked up via a retailer, my previous one before that was direct from apple, took 5 days. I have now waited 26 days whilst my mac is processing (it is still processing). This is silly. I can't cancel either at the moment (I took the finance offer because it was free).
 
How long does it normally take for the shipment to proceed from transit? Mine has been in transit in Shanghai since 29th December now.
 
My imac is hold in Memphis from friday night... No update from 3 days now...

Let's go Fedex....
