I have been playing with it for the last 2 days, Set up assistant only took 1 h (from my old iMac) and I was up and ready to play.

Apple originally said it would arrive Jan 7-10. After shipment the date by Apple was set to Jan 8. However, UPS date of delivery was set to Jan 3. But instead it was delivered 5 days earlier!!!

BTW, this is a well-traveled iMac, Shanghai>Narita>Anchorage>Louisville>MexicoCity>Monterrey.

I'm a happy guy!!!:D

Mine just arrived about an hour ago! I pulled the Apple RAM, and put in 32 GBs of Crucial RAM and it would not boot! I pulled the Crucial RAM, put back the Apple RAM and it started up fine. I'm now transferring from my TM backup via USB 3 Mediasonic 4 bay JBOD. It claims one hour to go, I had about 600 GBs of space used on the old iMac.

I'll trouble shoot the RAM problem later. The RAM is: CT8G3160BM.M16FDD, 8GB DDR3L-1600. I bought right from them using their chooser. Their invoice says its for Core i7 27-inch Late 2012.

I guess I should add:

Ordered 2 Dec

i7 3.4
3TB Fussion
GTX 680MX

Received my iMac today!!

It seems perfect for once! No yellowing and backlight bleed is minimal on max brightness.

Transferring from migration assistant ATM via USB 3. Took 4 hours to backup on old iMac, says about an hour and a half with the new one!

Loving it!

Well, I guess nothing will move for another 24 hours or so...until its January 2 over in China- unless Foxconn has their people working on New Year's Day.

Your Item Has Shipped

Just logged into Apple to print my invoice and noticed this at the bottom of the page.

Please Note: Your items dispatched from different locations and will be merged together before delivery. Once merged, your Order Status will be updated with carrier and tracking information (at latest 48 business hours before your estimated delivery date).

Where are these 27 inch units coming from. According to my invoice, I have ordered a 27 inch iMac and Apple Care so I am curious as to what items have to be merged?

Received my iMac today! :D UPS delivered it at 11am and I have been using it all day. No complaints so far, this thing is much faster than the 13" MBP I am replacing. Hold in there everyone. It is well worth the wait!

New iMac on its way

After much debate my 27" BTO is on its way.

27" i7
8gb ram
1tb fusion
680mx 2gb graphics card.

32gb ram and LaCie 1tb thunderbolt ssd are on their way! Should hold us over for awhile.

Why not also make a new thread for every new shipment notification you get. :D
Seriously though, why didn't you post this in one of the thousand "i just ordered" threads? :)

My shipping email points to Kuhne & Nagel Spedition s.a r.l. As the courier. With the s.a.r.l acramin on the end am I right in assuming this is in Luxembourg? The company are international so I suppose it could be in china but with a bit of Wiki help that ending seems to point to Europe.

I'm in the UK.

Any thoughts?

Anybody know why it went to NARITA-SHI JP? I'm personally thinking it is on the FDX90 Fedex plane, but not sure now...

Hi there. Can you tell us what was the problem you ran into with the new RAM? And how did you manage to fix it?

probabally just didnt have it pushed in all the way...that happens alot, so if you install ram and power your cpu up and nothing happens, good chance you just have to take them out and redo it and you should be fine, making sure its pushed all the way back securely until you feel it click

New Years holiday

I believe there is a three day holiday in China. So I would not look again until the 4th.

I believe it was "user insertion" error! :p I was a little excited to get my new baby & was trying to install the memory while it was laying upside down on it's box on the floor. After I took out the new memory & put the original back in it worked fine. Then sometime later with it on my desk & sitting upright I put the new memory back in 2 sticks at a time. All is well. I'm sure it was just not seated correctly the first time.
