Shipped! It went from processing to preparing this morning and now it's shipped! :D expected on or before 10/01/13 to uk. I payed through Barclays too and was starting to worry seeing all this 30 day expiry stuff going on having ordered on 2nd December. Really feel for the guys having their orders cancelled because apple are taking so long, not fair.

Hi where are you? There appears to be a bunch in Europe all aiming for between 8-10th Jan.

Could everyone try to include their location as it helps paint an ongoing picture of the flights etc.

... And jido giggled quietly :) :)

I really love it, but at the moment the family is using it mostly as a 27-inch Internet enabled TV.

I am really glad to have it, it's such a great design and cuts loads of clutter in the living room. My old computer was starting to have issues so it came in time.
lol good for you man...happy new year

My letter to Tim Cook

Dear Tim Cook,

Today an Apple employee informed me over the phone that their store had an iMac in stock. Within 20 minutes I was at their store, just to be informed that the product had been sold 1 hour earlier to a business customer over the phone, and that the employee over the phone misinformed me.

I understand you have a filtering system to protect yourself from receiving emails like this. I am, however, running a business of my own, and to waste a good hour of my day going to and from the store at the beginning of the year (which, as you know if a very busy time of year) just to be informed that your stock system was not updated is absolutely horrendous. For the most valuable company in the world, I expected more. For a company I use for all my business products, I expected more. For a company run by the world's top ranked CEO, I expected more.

Thank you for the great products your company designs, hopefully one day they will actually be delivered.

Kind regards,

What does FedEx have to do with this?

I asked how often people check the APPLE order status. I'm in day 27 of "processing" no matter what one expects or is told, a little movement would be nice to see.

Of course it would be awesome, but you'll receive an email the moment your status changes. Checking it or 'willing it' otherwise is an exercise in futility.

If you read through the thread there are quite a few people refreshing their FedEx shipment tracking screen or calling FedEx because the status wasn't updated for a day. None of these will put the computer on your doorstep any faster.

Actually, I can't think of a scenario where doing anything other then just waiting for the shipment email will expedite the process.

Norwich to be more precise ;) hopefully we'll see some more movement today.

I asked apple about it they say it does not start till you receive your Mac.
I would ask again, I read the opposite.

Doesn't AppleCare cover all Macs in your household? If it does, it would make sense for it to start as soon as you receive it.

well i ordered on the 5th, i got a bank statement two days ago saying that the full apple amount will be taken out on the third, which is today, ill give you guys a heads up soon as anything moves to shipping...they told me at apple when i initially ordered that the money wouldnt be charged until it was preparing to ship, so well see.

I can bet on the seconds that this email will be thrown to the recycle bin...
Do you really think that a CEO that run a 50K people can handle or care about 1 apple client who was misinformed over the phone on some random apple product ?
I also think that this is pure abuse of the CEO email.
people should learn to send critical high value emails to this kind of persons.

seat in Tim chair right now, what do you expect him to do ?
to abandon his daily critical meetings and general work, and call this one store to yell at this 20 + person who made this mistake? fire him?

sometimes people tend to forget that those people don't have time to deal with nonsense...

Can those who have had their status moved from Processing to Preparing or to Shipping tell me something... Did you get an email or text message notifying you of the change or did you find out by just checking the order status on apple.com?

Completely agree - there are probably 500+ people who's job it is to deal with stock management and supply chain globally and locally. Email one of them - this kind of email is a cry for attention.

I found out by checking the apple store site, but I'm not sure if it had only just change as within seconds of seeing it on the site I received an email to tell me it was preparing, when it changed to shipped I again found out myself online and received an email pretty soon after, but I didn't receive a text until the next day (this morning) so seems to be hit or miss. I was checking.... Several times a day though :/

Probably will be, yes. I guess my frustration arises because it managed to get to the point whereby Apple didn't deliver as promised. Most people here are having a whine that their products aren't at the front doors yet, when the expected delivery date isn't for another week. Sure, I expect it to go to his recycle bin, and in retrospect, it was a waste of time to send it. But the fact of the matter still stands, people shouldn't complain their computers aren't here yet. They were never lied to, cheated, etc.

I was simply surprised at the time of writing that email that Apple could make such a mistake. it's never something you expect from a company which is so powerful, and you think would be flawless in managing its own inventory. I was also frustrated that I put in the time and effort to go out and get a computer, to find it wasn't in store.

Got an email that was in spam / junk and a text.

Not a great amount of detail just an estimate delivery date.

Apple care only covers one mac at a time and it technically does not start till the orignal one year warranty ends... But I think we are saying the exact same thing

Was supose to get mine today. TNT just gave me à 24hour delay, nice real nice...

need help...

now my order status is saying canceled... WTF

I have the exact same problem, money is in since 27 december 2012 and on the 31th they cancelled my order, I called them up and they are still looking into it.

Bottom line: money is gone and also is the order.
Now I have to pay for an order that does not even exists anymore, great.

I t has been 4 day's and still no news

So one 12/6 order has moved to preparing for shipment while another got delivered. Still a ways away from my 12/13 date. Looks like at least another FEW WEEKS of Processing.......

21 days and counting.
