Remember that people bought different builds and certain components might very well be the reason why some orders ship before others.

Yes, but if you look closely, that doesn't seem to be the case on many of these irregularities.

I thought the same thing until I started looking at people who still hadn't seen their status change and some of the people that have already received theirs and it is all over the place. It's kind of like there are multiple fulfillment processes and one route is constrained and the other is processing at capacity. I've seen similar situations and they look a lot like this.

Mine's finally changed to 'PREPARING FOR SHIPMENT'. I had listed it on the database but now I can't find it. Maybe my edit didn't save.

Well anyway, I ordered on the 6th Dec, 3.2GHz i5, 1TB Fusion, 8GB RAM, the faster graphics card, credit card. Supposed to arrive between 4th and 11th. Mine got 'cancelled' too, weird error I suppose.

Well they do seem to be moving a wee bit today. Hope it keeps up the pace.

You can still add it now - good for others to see the progress as they track through to delivery!

Ordered mine on 12/9... Still processing. They gave me expedited shipping when it finally does go out for delivery because of the delay, sounds like most who have called to check on the status have gotten the same. In the meantime I have set up my new wireless printer, Time Capsule and my SuperDrive is ready on the desk. :). This is my first imac... Super excited about the 27 screen size. :)

Busiest shipping day by far, per the spreadsheet. We're past the holidays, everyone is back to work with no more shipping holidays this month to slow things down.

unless . . . . they got a batch of good screens and then run out and have to wait 2 more weeks for more .

Most ..not all.

I was told they would upgrade the shipping. But they didn't, and in successive calls about it - explaining the first CSR assured me he'd upgrade the shipping - I was told it could not be upgraded.

Still - it's on the way! And that's great! Now I go from refreshing the Apple Order page to refreshing the FedEx tracking page.

Imac 27"

I ordered on December 28th. I called Apple on December 30th requesting additional information on the delivery date for my order...I knew full well that they werent going to have any information, because I have been lurking on this thread since page 11 or so. But I was hopeful she could give me some sliver of info on what was going on. She was extremely nice, yet had no information. She did offer me a free wireless keyboard or printer or mouse! So I chose the keyboard so I can use it with my iPad mini.

I was super impressed with that customer service, and I am usually unsatisfied with most companies service. I work at Whole Foods, so I know how things should be done, and the lady at Apple made me feel better about not getting my $2638 computer for weeks.

Mine has just switched to shipped, but delivery date moved from Jan 11th (latest date of the original delivery window) to Jan 15th.

Still think it will be here by the originally stated time and Apple's now playing conservatively, usually takes one week or less to get Apple stuff from China.

I'm not yet clear if, besides people being pissed about other's people having their orders shipped before them, Apple has yet missed a delivery date that was originally given at the time of order.

I was originally quoted with a dispatch date of 28th-2nd January, it never did. I know it's not a contractual date Apple gave me but it still provides the answer to your point. Still sat at 'processing'

It might not be contractual, but you certainly have every right to be upset.

Asked the question as i had the feeling that the great majority if not all of the people were actually getting their imacs on or before the (long) latest date given at the time of order.

It´s strange. I´ve ordered three iMacs, same time on Nov 31. Same specs. One left Pudong Int´l today, another is Preparing and the third still Processing. Weird.

I keep seeing references to a spreadsheet, but where is it located????????

Dec. 8th, 32 g ram 3tb fusion, still in the processing black hole.

Ordered December 11th

Status: Processing
Available to ship: January

2.9 i5
8gb
1tb fusion

*CC authorized at order time, then disappeared about a week after the order. No charge or authorization on the card since then.

Just went to "Preparing for shipment"! got an alert from my cc regarding the charge :)

Ordered base model with fusion drive on December 7th from Indianapolis. Order status changed to Preparing for Shipment approx 10 minutes ago. It would be a true demonstration of my compulsiveness if my Apple Order Store link had a hit counter....:)

Mine just changed to Prep for Shipping. My CC was charged too. I ordered mine on 10-DEC. Also updated the spreadsheet. I am seeing a lot of "prep to ship" happening today. I guess Apple is now speeding up production of the iMacs.

woohoo! This is great news.
