Well, I went to the reseller to check the status of my Nov 30 order of the 27in 3.4, i7, 3tb, 680mx imac. They said no change so I said I wanted to cancel the order. They then looked again and saw that it was "in manufacturing" or something like that. I have not heard of that term before. I wonder if that is just more information that the reseller has access to and it is being made now. Has anyone else heard of this?
Thanks.
Sounds like they just didn't want you to cancel your order.
12/19 and have "Preparing" all around me. grr.
I ordered a base i5 on dec 14 and its still processingI ordered my iMac on December 15, order status is still "processing."
My config is totally maxed out. I've been told that is biting me in the butt now.
I called today and talked to a real human being at Apple. Although the order status says that my unit will be available to ship in January, the customer service rep told me that because I didn't order a stock machine, I should be thinking more like mid February!
Anyone else heard this? I can't square it because I thought the catch up wave was coming late January, not mid February!

Checked this morning and still processing. Figured I was out of luck until at least Monday...but I checked again about five minutes ago and my 12/19 order is preparing for shipment. YAY!

Ordered 32GB from Crucial earlier this week and it's already on its way (used Retail Me Not's link so I could get the 5% off plus free shipping.) Now to see how long it takes to get here -- I'm in Massachusetts.
Ordered on December 27
2.9GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX660M 512M GDDR5
MAGIC TRACKPAD-AM
Apple WL Kybd (English)+UG
Been at processing ever since... With the cancle button and everything. Sigh, hope things start picking up soon...
Yeah... Do we know if Foxconn ships on weekends?
You have another week at least, most likely! its comin! The BTO are the ones that are taking the longest as for wait.
Ordered 12/12.
Base 27" other than 1TB Fusion.
Left Shanghai yesterday
Through Anchorage this afternoon
Arrived Oakland around 10pm tonight
Scheduled for delivery Tuesday (Phoenix), but I'm guessing that I'll see it Monday if it's in Oakland already on Friday night.
I'm curious - SO many of you have ordered fully-loaded rigs, including i7's, lots of RAM, 3TB fusion, etc. I can't imagine that very many of you are that hardware-needy in terms of what you're using the machine for - are you? I'm guessing it's just a matter of wanting the best setup you can afford, which apparently is loaded. The part I don't understand at all is ordering anything other than base RAM, with the hideous prices Apple charges for more memory, and the ease of upgrading yourself.
Not in all cases
Mine is pretty standard
Dec 8 still PROCESSING
FFS
I thought maybe it was uk orders
Then looked at config
No problems with payment
God knows what's the deal
Just a big pile of frustration
Worsened by people ordering in Jan who have been hanging on "ages" already
Dunno when mine will ship. Ordered an i5 with 680 on 12/23 but today we are going to ikea to get a new desk for it.
