Delivery Thread for 27" iMac December Orders

Ordered: December 13th
Processing........seemed like forever....wore out the FedEx tracking button:rolleyes:
Shipped: January 10th

Picked up: January 12th

Mine says I cant pick it up from store... would that be because it is just leaving China? and do I have to wait for it to get local?

Orderd BTO on Dec 8, 2012 arrived January 9, 2013. Even though it was hung up in "Clearance" (Customs) for 24 hours it still made it on time! Sorry I did not send this sooner. I have been on Jury Duty and out of town.

On a side note, while it really is beautiful and over all very fast I have to find a forum that can tell me why it is taking a painful 2 hours to download a 32 GB Sony XQD memory card to the 3TB fusion drive.

I ordered mine from the Apple online store but FedEx came unexpectedly Friday, 1.11.13 at 10:30am instead of the predicted Monday, 1.14.13 delivery.
FedEx returned it to their airport facility and would have brought it back to my house for re-delivery on Monday. However, FedEx has an office at the airport and allows you to bring your door tag or order number and pick it up at the airport. I would guess you could meet your Mac at the airport if you really wanted to and pick it up at FedEx if you called and asked them.
 
Mine is still freakin processing. Order dec 22. I really need this damn machine now. Mid next week I have to start a job that this current machine can't handle. Gonna be forced to go buy a PC and with the frustration with Apple right now I am sure the transition back there will be a lot easier. I am going to give this iMac one more day to get its butt moving and lose that cancel button or I will be using that button.

still waiting on my dec 20 i7 3tb fus 8rm 680

though Im hearing quite a bit about the 27" getting black spots on monitor after a few months time, is this the old or the new one do yall think? This will be my first mac and I got the apple care but the people are saying apple care are refusing to cover it saying its not their fault but its because the mac is in smoke or in a high humidity, neither of which it will be in here at my house but others say they are havinga hard time, IM thinking of cancelling now and just get a mac mini with a nice monitor????? thoughts?

well knowing that the new iMac has not been out for a few months it must be the old one :p

don't get the mini, it has no discreet GPU and that means it will be good for a year or two then you will need something better. I plan this iMac to last me 6 years
 
Thanks to all of you who took the time to answer my curiosity about your high-spec'd orders. I see that some of you are buying a Mac for the first time. You'll be impressed - I can pretty much assure you.

Update on my own delivery: it's now here in Phoenix, so I expect delivery Monday (shows due Tuesday). I went very quickly from "preparing" to shipping to arrival. Was preparing Thursday, shipped Friday, in town by Saturday night.

The 2009 through 2011 models had the potential for some dust to get between the LCD and the glass, creating smudges. The 2012 cannot have this problem as the glass is glued directly to the LCD.

sounds good, I have had it with windows that doesnt work well, its always something...........I suppose Ill just have to figure out the mac way, no idea how to do certain things like moving files from folders or anything like that simple, guess Im glad I got one to one
 
Ordered on Dec. 5th and just got an email that it will not be shipped by the original date due to an "unexpected delay". :( Now says ship on or before Jan. 22.

Someone should do some serial # analysis of these seriously late orders and find out if they're all the same factory.

That would be interesting. Luckily I'm not in desperate need of this machine - it's for work and the current Mac Pro I'm using is doing fine. However, it is pretty damn annoying to have it delayed so long.

I am also given the 16th as the estimated delivery. I'm hoping for the 15th, but will be happy whatever day it arrives. I'm located in WI.
 
My computer is shipped! Now I have to sit here and stare at the door and wait for the doorbell to ring.
Expected delivery jan 16th! Wooooooo
 
Hold was placed on card today (and remains on card) early. Was really hoping it would go to Preparing because of the hold, but perhaps it'll do so while I'm asleep.

Hope the hold doesn't disappear and put me back in limbo. Not sure my sanity can take it! :p
