I've attached some pictures, cropped but unscaled-- hence their large size.

You can see the scuff I talk about in the lower right corner of the "Back.jpg" image-- it was that way right out of the box and notable through the clear packaging.

Its hard to see from the picture, but the one of the headphone jack shows one of the "sharp corners" that I intend to maybe sand smooth. Also the mold parting line running up the side from there is a little sharp and unfinished.

Is the back transparent? I couldn't see it from your photos very well if it was or wasn't. It appears not to be transparent.

^that thing looks identical to the eBay clone above

I agree. They look similar. I put in an order for the clone just to compare. Probably won't arrive for weeks, so it'll be a while before I know for sure.

Waiting for the Desmay Slight 5 to learn if I made a mistake in paying full retail for a case that I could have gotten on eBay for $5.

It isn't a big surprise that the Desmay is overpriced and a clone would eventually be available. Oh well.

It should be noted it isn't the same as the previously posted case with the oval cut-out for the volume buttons. I have one of those and it is thicker and doesn't fit as well. I hadn't seen the eBay clone one until now.

I'd say no, not when installed on the phone. If its slightly transparent off the phone, that doesn't really matter that much.

You can't see the Apple logo or the top and bottom glass RF-transparent areas of the phone.

Are you sure you didn't get the matte black? I thought the transparent black was very see-through

Any comment on the screen protector? good fit? visibility?

If it is really that opaque, that's a disappointment. every photo on their site shows the apple, and the 2 tone design through the back.

Yeah the transparent Apple logo shining through was one of the nice feats opposed to all the bootleg cases out there looks like we were mislead

trust me everyone, these are the exact same cases that are going for peanuts.
Even the D symbol on the back came off by just rubbing it.
The screen protector is even worse quality.
Save your money and go elsewhere.

My order says "Slight 5 for iPhone 5 (0.35mm) - Black Transparent (SKUSlight_5_Black)". I didn't think there was a Matte Black version.

I didn't even unpack the screen protector. I'm not into them personally. If I were to get one, I would get that fancy glass one (GLAS.t)... but isn't my thing. I just wanted mild cosmetic protection for the back/sides/bezel without adding bulk.

I agree. If this is the case, I may have to call BS from falsely advertising the case on their website as transparent. That's just odd.

How does it grip? Does it really add any bulk?

ugh. the fact that the black isn't transparent has me looking elsewhere sadly.

what a joke

Whats the top look like where the sleep/wake button is?

Very little bulk. The slimmest case I've seen for any iPhone (4/4S/5).

I agree that I would like it to be a bit more transparent. If you look at Desmay's twitter mentions, you see that they've had problems with their color accuracy in the past (one person complained about the shade of blue that the blue one was).

Whats the top look like where the sleep/wake button is?

See attached photo.

I have now put a dispute in with paypal.
Desmay won't return my emails and I refuse to accept the $42 I paid for case.
I call fraud on Desmay's part.

What is fraudulent on their part that you are making that claim? The transparency, the shipping, what?

Seems like it all is. The product was not of the quality and finish that was promised, and now they're not communicating to resolve the issue. While I would've given them at least 48 hours to reply, I'd end up doing the same thing had I ordered one of these for that price and then gotten the service this person has.

As a note, the package I received was postmarked HK$140 which is about USD$18. If you want it faster than standard shipping, then Desmay isn't overcharging you too much for the privilege.

Knowing now that there are clones of similar design for $5 on eBay (I ordered one myself now), I'm justifying the price to myself. I could have bought the $5 and not had it for a few weeks. I'd rather have this now, and have my phone in a case than wait a few weeks.

I do wonder who invested in the tooling cost to produce these cases. If it was Desmay, then they probably deserve their full retail price. With accessories like these, however, its inevitable that you'll find the cheap clones sooner or later.

After seeing a real image of the Black case, it's not remotely transparent as they make it appear on their website which is extremely deceiving. You might as well buy the nearly identical one on eBay for $5.

The case does not fit the phone properly.
The desmay "D" symbol on the back of the case has worn off after 12 hours of use.
The case does not fit properly at the bottom.
The case has flex strain damage on the back.
The case is not uniform in it's colour.
There are sharp edges that have not been finished properly.
The screen protector is damaged.
The case that the cover arrived in is cracked.
The case does not fit similar to the picture on the website.
The case when fitted causes the phone to wobble when set on a flat surface.

I had the desmay for my 4S and the fit on the slight5 is nowhere near the quality of the one for the 4S.
This is nothing more than the ebay knockoffs with a cheap white D on the back.

I'm only assuming that mine is sitting on my doorstep right now. I'll check it when I get home and see if I'm having the same issue. Let's hope not, otherwise I'm with you, I'll be asking for a refund. I also got a clear one too, so I'll get some pics up when I get it.

It is not on my doorstep. I guess I'll be following up with mine tomorrow if its here by then.

I will be avoiding the Desmay Slight 5 mainly due to the cons mentioned in this thread. I have 5 different ultra slim cases coming from eBay for under $15.

Looks good! No wonder they sold like hotcakes! Anyone know when this will be back in stock?? Got to order one now!

Only two people have received this, one person hates it the other person likes it but doesn't think it's worth it
