Destination sort facility

Mine just came (yay!) and the tracking status never got updated from "at dest sort facility," and it still says est. delivery june 24. It never updated to "out for delivery."
Cripes. Now I don't know if I should leave work to be home for delivery or not
That is EXACTLY my situation. I'm trying to think of what I'm going to tell my boss... good thing she's awesome and will let me do it
Yeah, an email that just happened to go to pre-order people from Apple's IP addy saying the i4 will deliver on the 23rd and it just happens that a crapload of people are receiving them a day or two early even though Apple "doesn't break the release date".
Which sounds more plausible, that or a typo in the last minute email?Check simpletracking.com to see if yours left Franklin. Mine did at 5am. I hope she isn't right
Mine left the ramp at Franklin, MA at 4:14 am today, BUT FEDEX JUST CAME AND THERE WAS NO IPHONE FOR ME. Flockers.
i'm not worried. last year fedex thought my 3Gs was still in alaska when it was actually being activated by itunes in my living room
haha great news! fedex usually makes their deliveries by noon so i have 3 more hours to go.. in the mean time, go USA!!!!!!!!!!!
And yet multiple people are claiming they called FedEx to find out that Apple has instructed them to hold the packages until tomorrow.
And multiple people have claimed that they have seen the FedEx truck go by, or even deliver without handing them their iphones.
Either a few screwups by FedEx offices are allowing it to get through a day early for a select few, or Apple was extremely inconsistent in communicating this early release to FedEx.
And those of you pointing to the grammar mistake email that went out yesterday -- you haven't been around the internet long if you think that can't be spoofed and bounced off Apple's domain.
Contacted FedEx and connected with Andrea in IPD. She stated that they are having trouble with updating their systems due to a large amount of packages in the system. My current tracking info on the fedex site shows my iphone sitting in KC sorting facility with delivery tomorrow. Andrea informed me that my iphone is on a truck as we speak and is out for delivery TODAY!!! Hang in there people we are going to get our iphones.

I wouldn't be worried about that, that truck was probably for priority overnight deliveries. Most are coming standard, which just requires them to be delivered before 3/4pm.
my phone has a delivery date of today from fed ex, but it hasn't shown that it has left the sort facility. i really hope it gets here today.
My original estimate of June 24 by 4:30 never got updated on the fedex site, but mine just arrived. Still says "at dest sort facility."
FedEx Ground Truck came to my area, but not my house
I am in the Overland Park, KS area which is part of the Kansas City metro area.
My tracking info is showing 'In Destination Sort Facility' in Kansas City, MO as of 1:30am CST this morning.
The FedEx Ground Truck was on my street 20 minutes ago, but did not have a package for me. The driver said if phone was sent "FedEx Ground" he would have had it on his truck for this morning. He went on to say that if it was sent "FedEx Express" it could come any time today.
Looking at the shipment info I have I cannot tell whether it was shipped GROUND or EXPRESS or some other FedEx method.
I hope Apple's email to me about getting delivery 6/23 instead of 6/24 holds true.
Anyone have any ideas on this?

Called FedEx customer service and got a pretty solid response:
The woman told me that the "tracking site is experiencing some delays in posting information" so it's not necessarily the status of your package. She also said that any iPhones currently listed as "At dest sort facility" have probably made their way onto a truck already and that they will be delivered by today. Even if your delivery date says the 24th, it should be here today. If your package still hasn't made it to a primary sort facility (Newark, Memphis, Oakland, etc.) then you may not get it until later tomorrow.
